You keep your poker to yourself young man.

Is it actually 100% certain that's what it even is?
I mean, it wouldn't be the first time people have taken an instagram photo and assumed it to be something it isn't.
Think people have said it is the actual MOK.
Would be a hell of a weird coincidence if it had nothing to do with Macca.

Maybe Macca wasn't comfortable with the timing of a full announcement?
Yeah I get that. Just seems odd that she'd think "I'm not comfortable with a full announcement, but I will drop a hint that people will pick up on..."

I’m sticking their Wednesday 2nd or Thursday 3rd March.
A significant amount of balances would be paid by then - is there likely a condition that they have to have a certain amount of tickets fully paid up before they can announce some acts? Perhaps?
I doubt there's any condition like that at all. It's more likely it works in reverse, if balance uptake is looking slow they drop the poster to gee people along...

Swear to god in the efestivals hive mind you all rule out Glastonbury’s ability to book pop. Even though we’ve had some of the biggest names in pop show up in the past few years.
Matt in massive over-generalisation shocker.

Who knows Macca could have gone off schedule but it doesn’t explain why the festival didn’t follow.
Its a big unknown but my guess is they feel ready to drop the poster very soon so they are waiting until then.
But why the MOK post? With Macca's tweet you either announce or stay quiet.
-
I fully get that the festival decided not to announce Macca yesterday due to the ongoing crisis in Russia, and also that Macca's Tweet was probably scheduled - someone said he's over in California at the moment so would have been in the middle of night. Any "no we're not doing it today" message from the fest may not have been picked up until a few hours later.
But I don't get Emily's Mull of Kintyre post, don't "not announce" but then post a massive hint instead...

Yeah it was, my mistake. How is RAH, i'm yet to go
It's brilliant, one of the best venues in the world.

Thats a scary way to look at it. I remember when AM did it the tickets were a similar price - my friend was tempted but I could not justify it. Agreed on Madness
Was that the Warchild gig?
Went to that, think I paid about £80.

ah yeah whoops - i'm a bit hungover okay 🙂 . Was going to say!
Knebworth with kasabian was £75, not bad at all i think
Another way to look at it is half a Glastonbury ticket to watch Liam Gallagher at the RAH. Even the cheap tickets were about 90 sheets. It's sold out though so people are obviously happy to pay.
The pricing decision has been made by the TCT given the other gigs are priced the same. Can't see many people shelling out those amounts for Madness though.

Then that's probably where they'll wind up given their long history of going dab down at the G.
Couldn't imagine anyone going to it, I'm a massive National fan but I'm not missing Macca for them.
It wouldn't even be like The Stones v Chase & Status where at least there was a broad difference in genres and demographics.

How can you say Noel is less talented when he wrote the songs and continues to still write his own songs? Liam just has legacy and a dose of 'charisma'
Think he meant Liam is the less talented one.

It’s definitely a possibility as well, I think. I don’t buy Fatboy Slim coming back and I definitely don’t think Dua Lipa is going to be doing it.
National v Macca would be suicide for them.

Megan Thee Stallion to headline the Hell Stage on the Thursday night is what we want to see.
Megan Thee Wyld Stallions.

I only really see them as Other stage headliner at this point, so on that basis it's probably a no this year.
Same.

Sub again. Same deal as Jack White init.
Not sure this forum could handle another underwhelming National sub performance.

The National outta nowhere again
They're in Europe so not out of the question, the bigger issue would be where they would fit on the lineup.

We know who is touring around the festival and who we expect to be there, but there's always a big name or three that come completely out of nowhere, like Janet Jackson, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus etc. Anyone wanna take a punt on who we might see land on this year's poster? We've done the argument to death but The Strokes would be a massive shock if they turned up on the poster billed as 'special guests'. Someone like Christina Aguilera perhaps? Not sure what her tour dates are like but she's active in Europe. Have Simply Red ever played before?
We had a whole thread on this recently...

Same prices for Madness, The Who and Sheeran too.
-
Thought I'd pick up a ticket for one of the TCT gigs, I always try to get to one every year. Decided Liam was the best option... ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY QUID to stand!!!
I know it's for charity but fucking hell!!
-
Just fucking announce him already!
