I’m sticking their Wednesday 2nd or Thursday 3rd March.

A significant amount of balances would be paid by then - is there likely a condition that they have to have a certain amount of tickets fully paid up before they can announce some acts? Perhaps?

I doubt there's any condition like that at all. It's more likely it works in reverse, if balance uptake is looking slow they drop the poster to gee people along...

  2. I fully get that the festival decided not to announce Macca yesterday due to the ongoing crisis in Russia, and also that Macca's Tweet was probably scheduled - someone said he's over in California at the moment so would have been in the middle of night. Any "no we're not doing it today" message from the fest may not have been picked up until a few hours later.

But I don't get Emily's Mull of Kintyre post, don't "not announce" but then post a massive hint instead...

ah yeah whoops - i'm a bit hungover okay 🙂 . Was going to say!

Knebworth with kasabian was £75, not bad at all i think

Another way to look at it is half a Glastonbury ticket to watch Liam Gallagher at the RAH. Even the cheap tickets were about 90 sheets. It's sold out though so people are obviously happy to pay.

The pricing decision has been made by the TCT given the other gigs are priced the same. Can't see many people shelling out those amounts for Madness though.

Then that's probably where they'll wind up given their long history of going dab down at the G.

Couldn't imagine anyone going to it, I'm a massive National fan but I'm not missing Macca for them.

It wouldn't even be like The Stones v Chase & Status where at least there was a broad difference in genres and demographics.

We know who is touring around the festival and who we expect to be there, but there's always a big name or three that come completely out of nowhere, like Janet Jackson, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus etc. Anyone wanna take a punt on who we might see land on this year's poster? We've done the argument to death but The Strokes would be a massive shock if they turned up on the poster billed as 'special guests'. Someone like Christina Aguilera perhaps? Not sure what her tour dates are like but she's active in Europe. Have Simply Red ever played before?

We had a whole thread on this recently...
