Sails
Was it horrific? No!
Did it sound as I expected? Hadn’t ever heard of them before so had no real expectations.
Overall thoughts Nice sound. Found it a bit same-y in places to be honest, but still a decent album to listen to.
Would I watch them at a festival? If it was sunny it would be perfect music to listen to mid afternoon with a cold cider to keep me company
Would I listen to it again? Yeah
Will I investigate them further? Possibly
Score out of 5 3/5
Slowdive
Was it horrific? No, the opposite!
Did it sound as I expected? Again, difficult as I hadn’t heard anything that the band had done before (although I have heard of them).
Overall thoughts very nice! I’ve heard of the band before but never really investigated their music. Really nice chilled out sound with enough change of pace to keep entertained. Needs to be heard as a full album, no skipping songs here! Can see me becoming a fan of the band.
Would I watch them at a festival? Yes
Would I listen to it again? Yes, and looking forward to it
Will I investigate them further? Already on my to do list for next week!

I'm waiting for the remix when the date gets moved back! Really don't know what to say, other than it's not very good...at all

Gave the new KOL a spin this morning. It’s alright. Probably better than anything they’ve done in a long time and there were a few songs that stood out, but also doubt I’ll go back to it again.
New Arab Strap album on the other hand is fantastic and better than I could’ve hoped.
I think you've hit the nail on the head there regarding KOL. It's just a bit 'meh' really - as a complete album I think it works better than their last few but there's nothing really on it that would make me want to go back to it. Good background music but wasn't drawn in at anytime. I know they are a different band now but their first 3 albums were so good, I'd love them to ditch the stadium/dad rock and go back to a more raw sound.

Haven’t heard the new Maximo Park, but I’m a big fan of their stuff.
For me they are a really consistent band. A band I could easily spend a few hours going through the back catalogue. Thought their previous 2 albums were their weakest but this ones a real return to the standard of the first couple.

starting to get concerned she might actually win this thing, which would be a criminal offence!

Some good albums out in Feb. Tough to pick 3. However...
1. Maximo Park - Nature always wins
2. Black Country New Road - For the first time
3. Foo Fighters - Medicine at Midnight
Honourable mentions to Django Django and TV Priest who were close to making it
