In the unlikely event it was postponed, could have whole new next announcement thread (if the lineup changes) and restart the foals debate.
-
It would be nice for them to do something though, even if it was just a slimmed down event for charity like the abbey extravaganza and Pilton party and later in the year. I wouldn't mind if I couldn't get tickets but be a shame, for the 50th to go unmarked.
-
Yeah who knows, speculation atm - hopefully things will be a bit clearer today.

My gut feeling is that September will never work.
If Glastonbury was on an unused site that laid dormant all year round then yes it’s a possibility. However much of the land is borrowed for the duration of the festival from adjacent landowners with working farms.
They get a nice pay cheque from the use of the land, which they might welcome regardless of the month.

Was working so only managed to catch the first few pages.
This legit then? Not just someone pulling our legs?
Its not been officially confirmed but widely believed now , Eavis family members have posted about it on their social media.
Apparently some kind of meeting tomorrow, then things should be more clear.

I was given Rammstein tickets for my birthday, supposed to be in June, just waiting for the bad news.

I can’t see any reasons why they couldn’t release a similar statement to bearded theory. Clutching definitely but it would feel incredible after tonight 😂
lets see if there is any news after the meeting tomorrow people have mentioned, we will either be surprised or have already digested the news of the cancellation of everyone's favorite festival.
-
If they could feasibly move it, that would be good news - really clutching at straws and the swirly circle lineup poster would probably look quite different.
I would go to be and wait for some actual news, but i am on nights.

This thread is pretty sickening, I know Glastonbury means lot to people on here, but people are dying in their thousands, people are struggling financially, businesses will go bust, homeless shelters are closing, people are trapped abroad, and people on here are squabbling over whether they are entitled to a ticket to a festival next year because they had one for this year and others are complaining that they won’t be able to go to it for 2 years blah blah blah.
get a grip, it’s a festival, who cares? People are dying FFS.
Everyone knows the sad reality of whats going on, but people are allowed to be upset about something they have been looking forward to for a long time, this is efestivals, whats wrong with you,

If that’s definitely her and it’s actually come from knowledge rather than reacting to the current state of the world, then I find it absolutely crackers that family members have been leaking this over social media prior to an announcement being made.
Yeah you would have thought they would have kept it to themselves and allow the festival to make the difficult announcement.
I guess they wouldnt have known it would be everywhere already and
I guess we are no better either, but that is the world we live in.

As good as confirmed surely.
First this morning we had the Euronews correspondent (from Bristol) say he has double-sourced info that some volunteers/staff have had deposit refunds due to cancellation.
Then in the space of an hour tonight we've had cancellation confirmed by:
- A Facebook post, supposedly by the daughter of Michael Eavis
- An Instagram story, supposedly by his granddaughter
- Neil's unofficial sources
- Stagedoor FM's unofficial sources
And still no word from Glastonbury to quell the storm, coming on for three hours later....
maybe they turned their computers and phones off.
such stressful times for so many
-
Perhaps less of chance of rollover because we have only paid £50 not full.
Fingers crossed though. has been great discussing the build up with all the efesters.
-
I would still pay my full balance in April if it meant I didn't have the ticket nightmare in October.
Not going to happen
-
Be well annoyed if my sister blurted the news out before could put out a proper statement.
Must love those Facebook likes !

Sad times indeed, 2021 it is then hopefully boys and girls.

Time to wall off London. Send all cases there and let the rest of the country continue as normal.
No thanks Donald haha
Doing my bit today, staying in bed watching the post apocalyptic film 'the road' , working nights this week.

Still waiting for them to cancel the Sam fender show on the 26th ally pally, leaving it quite late for those who have to travel.
-
Tube still very busy, no chance of social distance, apparently going to be a reduced service so will just been more people crammed into less trains.
I want to cycle but my work is to far and there is nowhere to lock it.
Sorry to here about those struggling on here, sad times.

Where do you think the festival medical crew work the rest of the year?
I wasn't sure to be honest, no need to be smarmy.
Someone else mentioned that in a decent way.
I have been a nurse in the NHS for 6 years so I am aware of the pressures.
-
The staff looked exhausted in Sainsbury's, queues were ridiculous.
I just spotted a shelf full of toilet paper in a corner shop in walthamstow if anyone needs some haha
-
Reading the Glastonbury website medical section, it sounds like they are fairly self sufficient in terms of staffing and dealing with minor injuries etc and even advise against using the local hospital for your injury as you can be treated on site.
I am not suggesting in any way they are able to deal with an outbreak of a virus, I just mean they won't be pillaging the NHS of staff.
I know I am probably being overly optimistic haha as I want things to have improved for the UK and for it to be safe to have events in the summer, I have settled in my head good chance will have to wait till next year .
Just was reading it then.
Glastonbury 2020 Cancelled - I am sorry to be the bearer of this news.

Unrelated but I visited the site in February and didn't see one cow. I am not sure where they were all hiding, probably in a barn.
