I enjoyed it although a lot of the music was not to my taste but enjoyed Travis & The Proclaimers a lot. I am a big fan of Sleeper, Ash & Mondays but thought they all sounded a little flat but enjoyed them because I like them rather then, I felt they all put on a good show. Sam Ryder was ok but seemed an underwhelming headliner to close with. I was very surprised when he was announced.
It was my first year and it seemed to me that the likes of Sleeper, Ash are not really the sort of acts that go down well with a Wychwood crowd.
If there is more to my liking on the lineup next year, I might go again as I like the timing of it but far to many acts that I was not really interested in. It might be the first festival that I have been to and not discovered any new acts. Well not 100% true as caught a few songs by The Howlers that I thought were ok. I heard a Royal Blood cover and wondered over to see them. (I know the mention of RB generally does not go down well hear, but I rather like them).
A few people did comment to me about the layout not being as good or moaning about the distance to the car park but as a newbe cant really comment. A few people did say it was the biggest festival so far but again, I have nothing to compare it with.
My initial thoughts are they could do better but the ticket was fairly cheap. It sort of feels like all the music budget gets spent on the headliners and subs. It must be hard to decide on who to get for a festival like this as a lot of the crowd are fairly old. So do you go for old acts you think they will like or very new acts who may well be cheaper but may not impress your old timers. Travis day seemed very busy and I guess they are a decent pull. Things had thinned out a lot by the time Sam came on Sunday night. I think you really need to like the top 6 acts as the undercard is not all that.
I did like the fact you could bring a chair without contacting the Access Team. Although, I did email them in advance just incase. Need not have bothered as everyone and his dog had them 🙂
I was driving each day and so have no idea about the beer quality or price. Why torcher yourself by looking when you cant drink.

Is that it for expected announcements?
I would have thought so but we can always hope they have a surprise to add but not expecting anything.

Definitely go and see James and the Cold Gun. They did one of the Pearl Jam days last year, got a shout out from Eddie Vedder and have since signed to Stone Gossard's label. Frontman used to be the bassist in a band called Holding Absence but not sure that will mean anything to anyone here!
Will try and check them out. I saw Holding Absence before supporting Creeper and thought they were ok and so up for giving James and the Cold Gun a go.

did you see any of those acts and can say it's worth seeing?
Seen Bad Nerves a few times. If you like pop punk/slam dunk style acts you will probably like them but in general don't know the other smaller names. I think I have heard one song by The Dust Coda and did not think I need to check this band out.

Why don’t you watch Mumfords and then meet your partner afterwards? Or watch half and half ?
Both good idea's but we have now kinda agreed to go see Marr. It just feels right to spend the last act together and after dashing about all weekend the idea of sitting on the hill relaxing to some Smiths songs does sound appealing. Considering my partner never listened to the Smiths and only likes Marr as I had dragged her to his and Morrisseys gigs, I cant really turn around and say I would rather see Mumford. It's just a dissapointing clash.
-
Some real stupid clashes now. Why put Marr up against Mumford. Why not put Sigrid or Goulding on as headliner. I love Johnny Marr but headlining the Castle? Well there goes my chance to see Mumford as my partner hates Mumford and loves Marr and so that decision has been made. I will enjoy Marr as i have many times before its just a shame that I will miss this rare chance to see Mumford & Sons. Is Marr bigger enough to draw most fans away from the Common stage?
I am not at all happy about the potential clashes, far to many to mention but many of them are just so annoying as there is plenty of variety on the poster to offer people real alternatives rather then putting acts with similar fans up against each other.
Also gutted about the Amyl/Kasiers clash

kyle punched jamie and then jamie walked off .kyle played half set and got jamie back on and walked off stating that could only be 1 lead singer .
Oh dear, hopefully they will at least want to do a few gigs to promote the new album. So, maybe they will want to do the festival gigs? But its going to be a case of watching expecting to see a car crash and not the joyous celebration of their music we are wanting.
More than a little dissapointed this was cancelled as I did not try for Vaccines tickets for tonight at the Sebright Arms as we all ready had tickets for The View at Oslo.

Wonder who will replace The View…
Thanks for posting that as it prompted me to check out their social media. My partner picked up tickets for tonights show from twickets. So, we might not have got notification that tonights show was cancelled.
Facebook does not give a reason why tonights show was cancelled.

This was last year https://clashfinder.com/s/ynot22/ Hopefully someone does 2023 soon.
Thanks for that, it gives me an idea of what to expect.

For those who have been before, are the acts on different stages on at the same time? Or are they staggered that you can see an act on the main stage and then wonder off and watch someone on the smaller stages between main stage acts. This year will be my first year and so don't know how the stage times work.

At last a London gig.

Is it just me who cannot see Bonnie Kemplay on the poster? Do you think they just missed her off.
I saw her earlier in the year supporting The 1975. I would be up for seeing her again in an early slot. I guess a decent chance they might put her on the accoustic stage.

Does anyone think they will publish the numbers for this request game. It would be poor to give the most requested names and numbers and then never get a single one.
We might have been ambitious with many of our requests but how many people would have replied Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Metallica..............etc
It might have been better to ask which up and coming acts would you like to see play or who would you like to see in the afternoon sun.
Next years post, we listened to your requests and so many of you wanted Self Esteem, Pigeon Detectives and The Fizz so we have gone out and got them 😊
-
For who you looking forward to, I went with Blossoms. This year there are just lots of people I like but dont really have any must see acts.
For next year, I thought I might as well think big as it will make no difference to who they book anyway.
Pulp
Kings of Leon
Muse

A very good set of new names and most pleased by The Lathums, Sea Girls, Pigeon Detectives.
CMAT, Cassyette, Yonaka, Mystery Jets are also good fun. From seeing some of the recent announcements at other festivals, I was not expecting much so very pleased with this announcement.
There are so many artists that I like about the same amount, that I can see endless clashes. Totally agree with others, this is one of the strongest mid tier festival lineups.
