Rage Against The Machine haven’t directly said that though.
Oh who was it?

I'm 99% sure that the drummer of the Strokes has already said no UK festivals this year.
Yet RATM are heavily rumoured even after saying they weren’t doing any European fests?
edit : plus i’m pretty sure whoever said that said they ‘couldn’t find the article’ when we asked where it was from

not doing that great up north, leeds would probably eliminate the chance of these selling out
Are we writing off Stormzy to co because of Glasto? Could do it and just close Reading

Going off Dan’s headliners (bit of a dream scenario):
STORMZY // Skepta // Slowthai / Slaves
LG // THE STROKES // Sam Fender // Wolf Alice
RATM // Idles // Run The Jewels // Denzel Curry
If Dan’s comments were false:
THE STROKES // BMTH // Sam Fender // Run The Jewels
LG // Skepta // Wolf Alice // Slowthai
TRAVIS SCOTT // Dave // Gerry Cinnamon // Aitch

They've subbed UK fests before and didn't even headline the second stage at TITP so they've shown they've been willing to step down in the past.
In that case yeah I think they might be under LG
1 minute ago, BeddingatReading said:Why do people think Liam may Co headline? Why would they just announce one “headliner” who isn’t even doing it outright and nobody else? This isn’t me knocking anyone’s predictions btw just curious.
I don’t tbh I was in the camp that said he can defo do it outright but the lineup they’re both on just made me think maybe they’re on for another fest together

Would the idea of them and BMTH subbing Liam and Rage respectively be a little too strong to be true?
Liam is subbing them at another fest so I could see them co-headlining with Liam perhaps but I doubt they’d accept anything less. BMTH maybe yeah

New Strokes album announced. Just in time for the R&L announcement?

To the best of my knowledge, yes.
Plot twist: he does not have any knowledge

I still remember when Sonisphere booked Queen + AL and it killed the festival
are they that bad?

The Strokes would be a really good booking if they could get them. Haven’t done a northern UK date since the last R&L they played

I can actually imagine FR booking KSI to open the main stage or something
i feel like he’d end up pulling a pretty impressive crowd tbh

Roundhouse to be announced very soon apparently
where’d you hear that?

Seems The Strokes have no English dates on their Feb run, could make them more likely?

emphasis on the word 'Nearly' they've been on sale for a few months already and past hip hop/grime headliners like Kendrick and Post have sold out in days. Plus have to admit Skepta headlining Wireless has already sold out Saturday after a few days so wouldn't be surprised if he turns up somewhere on the lineup especially as he came our last year in Octavians set.
who Skepta or Stormzy?
-
Whether Dan is having us on or not, I could still see Stormzy doing it tbh. All 3 London dates and Leeds nearly sold out, as well as most of the other dates on tour. Clearly a lot of demand for him. (plus there’s nothing stopping people already doing those dates wanting to go to see him again at Leeds)
-
@Dan Wilcox did say announcement was at the end of Feb. seems like it’s going that way tbh

Imagine if an act equivalent to Black Grape got booked to headline these days. Off the back of the success of the previous singer's band, and after just one album.
Very almost described Liam Gallagher there I think ...

You’re telling me we’ve got 200 more pages of this before we get any concrete info?

Does anyone actually have the interview where The Strokes said no UK fests?
