Have you/anyone ever done that 10k they do around the Olympic village on the first sat of each month? Considering signing up to the feb one to give me a bit of rubbing motivation (as opposed to mixing it up on the other cardio machines as well) For the next three weeks

is this organised by RunThrough? I'm doing a half marathon around the Olympic park area with them in Feb

As for this weekend: set a new pb at parkrun (20:11!) and got in an 11 miler on sunday - feeling a bit broken, I think ive done a bit of metatarsal damage to my middle toe so I'm going to hold off until Wednesday eve to go out again

Beware, if it's hot at night, there's not a lot a reflective coating can do to keep your tent cool.  I ended up opening all the vents after sweltering in the middle of the night, meaning that some (although nowhere near as much as a standard tent) light came in when the sun came up. It may be great in the mornings, but it doesn't come with an air conditioner!

Essentially I arrived back at the tent between 6-7am each day, so I only had the option of sleeping in a furnace! Even if it means I can get 2-3 hours a day its worth it!

    Officially broken

Will get the official time when they send out, but think it was about 4hrs 50 in total (forgot to press stop on the watch as I fell over the line!). Knee is fucked and everything was cramping on the final 5km (including the climb up Jacob's Ladder), and gave up maybe 15 mins stopping to help someone who'd properly buggered her knee until they got med staff sorted and en route.

But all told, I'm happy with that. Hit the target of sub 5 hours even with the stoppage, so I'm not complaining!

This is the GPS count, but time isn't official as strava pauses when you stop and only records moving time.

I usually do HIIT every morning and Pilates three times a week but was wiped out by a chest infection most of December and now have a viral infection. Wouldn't mind missing the exercise for festivities (pints) but being ill is just shit. Trying to get back into it this week - did a body coach live HIIT on NYD and my thighs are still burning.

unlucky on the chest infection I think I've got one heading my way too! 6hr Iration Steppas set tomorrow night in Lewisham may be the death of me!

  6. Yes 2020 fitness crew!

I smashed out a 10 mile run in 1hr11mins yesterday! definitely went way too hard but knocked about 10mins off my pb which was unreal - hurting and dying today however! how did everyone get on over xmas? (or not!)

edit: forgot to add I was running in my new xmas present shoes - Nike Next %'s, so it does sort of feel like im cheating with the carbon plates added... still - flying along!

Will the US Elections be a bit of an issue with trying to sort that out though? I can't imagine it being high on trump's agenda over the back end of the next 10 months.

I was wondering this as well, US elections November 2020 or so?

end of 2020 is when the transition period runs out.

If there's no deal and no extension (last date to ask for extension is 30th June) the UK/EU trade defaults to no deal.

I think it's likely Johnson will get a deal by then - because the consequence for both sides if they don't agree are not great - but without time to define the ins & outs it's unlikely to be as good a deal as it could be.

"The government is to add a new clause to the Brexit bill to rule out any extension to the transition period beyond the end of next year.

The post-Brexit transition period - due to conclude in December 2020 -  can currently be extended by mutual agreement for up to two years.

But an amended Withdrawal Agreement Bill the Commons is set to vote on this week would rule out any extension."

Just read this morning ^ looks like there may be no option for an extension anyway if the new clause gets passed

People need to give Corbyn a break - turns out there was a very good reason for the defeat out of his control

also, Why doesn’t he just use his powers to get a second ref too?!

  11. I think there's going to be some really decent alternatives as I would think its pretty obvious to be a bit of a polarising booking. well... its probably also a bit obvious there will be decent alternatives as its Glastonbury.. but you know what I mean, maybe someone quite heavy to balance it out.. (praying for RATM still!)

  12. its a no from me, however the fun part has been scrolling through twitter and seeing all the American "swifties" comments about glasto "what is this????" "we need to get tickets!!!!" etc - I think it will actually raise Glastonbury's profile to a new audience at the very least

Look realistically there are going to be efesters who are tory or even UKIP / Brexit. Stats suggest there have to be.

I mean, I hate the tories, but I understand some people on here may back them. But UKIP? on the glasto efests forum???

Not in my case, I live in a safe Labour seat, my vote wouldn't change anything, i'm out of the country at the moment so can't vote, I could have got a postal vote but as I say, wouldn't have changed anything.

not a great attitude there tbh.... every vote counts even in a safe labour seat!
