Keeping up the gym and 'eating a lot less' kick that I started in the summer... feeling fitter every week and clothes fitting better thank god. Hoping to hit Glasto 2020 in much better shape than I did last year, which I'd be now if I stopped and did nothing between now and June.
The best time to plant a tree is a year ago, the second best time is today. Yes it's January and you don't always wanna do stuff, but get your eye in early
I feel like judging by the level of effort in this thread the Efests crew is gonna look as ripped as the Love Island lot come June!

decent weekend of marathon training done, 5k park run on sat (officially 20:48, Strava says it was 19:35!) - and 21k slow yesterday (furthest single distance I've run since Hackney Half last year!)

Just finished reading his autobiography, an absolutely WILD read. The guy has done everything.
Still find him headlining Bestival but not Glasto quite strange (he was brilliant).
Was at Bestival when he headlined, sooooooo much fun

And also a fuck of a lot more stressful!!! Last year's rollercoaster ride just about did me in....although I suppose the Weather Thread was more to blame for that and all those technical maps I didn't understand other than that they had too much green to be good.

I'm so excited for when everyone starts going mental about the weather

more exciting than any lineup announcement tbf

I honestly cannot see RATM taking other slot than headlining and the headliner missing will be someone who never played before AKA Kenny. I would try to believe at least 1%.
I thought this, but was thinking about Emily saying Other headliners will be Pyramid sized, they would do well against Swift as I would expect there might be less crossover in terms of fans? all extremities are crossed for good luck either way!

I will happily accept this rumour as truth without any further corroborating evidence.

Where you heard this and from who? I would love to have some hope but its lost now
cant post details as I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but from an industry mate and it sounded believable enough for me to get my hopes up!

Yep...
The year of the long queues to get in, no one had any booze left by the time we were through the gate :-)
ill usually do £200 minimum on the bar over boomtown weekend - depressing but I need to maintain a constant level of inebriated throughout the weekend and it is what it is - conversely probably bought 4 cold pints a day at glasto and a few mixers with ice for spirits.

There is absolutely 100% no other reason for that other than maximising their bar revenue. Disgusting behavior.
That's why ive always brought K Cider.. disgusting.. but 9% proof. Still end up spending a fortune at the bars there though, hence why I rate Glastonbury's policy so much!

Boomtown has pretty much the same structure you're talking about (on a much smaller scale of course), and still manages to be just about the most restrictive festival in terms of bringing in your own alcohol.
last time I went they counted every can before I got past security!

It's pretty easy to stash a (non glass) bottle somewhere and get it in undetected though.
Yeah true, but I've got enough to stash without having to worry about spirits!...

limiting/prohibiting spirits is one thing I was thinking may happen, seems like Glastonbury is the only festival I can think of that still allows them brought in

I made it this morning 🙂 Got up at 6 and made it there by about 6.45am. Still find it a bit intimidating but stuck with it and I reckon after a few more times it will be fine. Now sitting on the train to work feeling delightfully smug and pleased with myself.
good effort! I've got to get back on it with the running tonight - starting to feel like I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this marathon training...

would be interested to see a poll (nearer to the day?) on when everyone is back at work after G

This pretty much what I would have posted. Although I usually get to bed about 4.
Eaplugs, eyemask, some sort of sleeping aid (melatonin, xanax...).
been said before here but careful with the Xanax etc, especially when mixing with other fun substances, you're really going to spoil your weekend if you wake up dead

I usually only go to the local as my dad is a fan of it (about to complete his 50th overall) and sort of get guilt tripped into it. but do quite like a bit of 'parkrun tourism' as theres some really nice ones about

702?! Which run is that?
Was surprised how small the Auckland one was. Prob not much more than 50 people running and no one pratting on about milestones, visitors beforehand!that's cassiobury parkrun in Watford, usually about 400 people but all the new year new me lot are clogging it up a bit in jan!

'The Race Organiser' it would appear. Incredible time at Parkrun there!
ah yeah ive seen those ones advertised, not a bad price either really. shame I didn't have my barcode for parkrun so I was on the board as "unknown" - 23rd out of 702 runners though ill take that!

inspiring to read some of these! trying to not go as hard this year - firstly will be there from the weds instead of thurs so that's an extra day of messiness to deal with and never want to feel as horrible as I did on the Monday last year ever again!
