Different usages patterns, also for the football stadium the latest it will finish will be half 10ish where the arena has a 24 hour licence, and will likely have more drinkers than the stadium.

Didn't know it had a 24 hour license thats quite cool

I'm sure there will be buses etc. obviously a pain if you live nearby though - but most shows should end by 11

There's no way there will be more drinkers than in the stadium 😂 - percentage wise maybe but actual amount? no chance

  2. Considering there's a stadium next to it thats 3x the capacity and has survived for 20+ years i'm sure the Co-op will be fine!

(it is stupid though, no way would an arena 30 minutes from the nearest proper station like that be allowed in London)

Did I read somewhere that 'Fabric' are taking over a stage in Silver Hayes one of the days?

If so I wonder if this is where the likes of Sasha/ Craig Richards/ Digweed etc may end up..?

Also there is the talk of Levels getting bigger this year.

bigger likely just means moving the stands back a little bit so more people can fit in the area. It was needlessly restricted last year

And my point is they're a truck sized festival headliner, hardly past it.

And I'm not even a fan...

I don't disagree they should be on other just trying to explain the logic behind what they said

Them headlining the other is a strange placement yeah, but you're saying TDCC and Idles aren't big enough to even play the other?

think they more meant TDCC are past it and should be playing in Woodsies or something (ala Jamie T)

Cinch have moved on… they now ‘present’ Carfest after a stint presenting Creamfields.

Weird sponsorship of the year this year is ‘Uber presents All Points East’ where there will be exactly zero chance of getting an Uber ride home!

And preaching to the already converted, ‘Audi presents Wilderness’ where 99% of the attendees arrive in their Audi’s 😂

Uber are trying to expand to flights and trains

Fish56octagon has fast become one of my favourite Instagram characters and if his posts are anything to go by he should be great value for a proggy/trancey set at the Glade Dome

That Glade Dome is going to be absolutely rammed I think. Its on thursday as well if i recall.

Black keys still on for Saturday.

Might have plenty of drinks before I get there, sounds like the organisation of it is absolutely shite.

Looks like the Man City lot genuinely can’t organise a piss up.

there's a co-op inside so bar queues etc don't seem an issue

worth noting its insanely expensive (£9 pint at bars, cans £7.50 in the coop)

    It's very conflicting these days.

I'm sure I've been to bands who have some monsters in the closet that I don't know about. Maybe if social media had existed back then, could have brought issues to light.

I'm always quite torn on the Artist v Art, ethics conversation. Kanye is always the best example I find when talking about with friends. Can I still listen to his old work but ignore the newer music he releases? Should I not listen to anything of his at all?

Arcade Fire's Will Butler had some allegations a while back, I didn't pay too much attention but I know there's something there.

Would I actively pay a ticket for a show/merch? No. Would I see them on the farm? Maybe if nothing else is on.

I didn't know about these recent TDCC issues. I probably don't have them at the top of my must see, but if they played at a time with nothing else on I might consider it. If I was there I'd probably tell my friends I'm with what you've told us, spread awareness. Artist v Art again.

But then you look around & some artists with terrible reputations have sold out stadium shows. The public often just don't care. So then you're stuck in your own personal dilemma, fighting an uphill battle. Like separating your hard and soft plastics or going vegan. Believing in your moral compass, amidst a majority of the world who dgaf.

without fully going into ranking weirdos, i think the two door guy blabbing on about covid etc is not as high on my avoid list as Win Butler for instance

Your right though about a lot of people just not caring, only need to look at Chris Brown's tour to see that

  10. People are right on Glade, its certainly much more filled with commercial acts this year. If it makes the SEC noticeably more manageable then i don't mind much - but feel sorry for the psytrance crowd etc

It would be weird for them to be playing SA + Hits at their dates this year except Glasto. purely from a practical level it will be what they are rehearsing.  SA is just shy of 1 hour I think so maybe you drop a couple of tracks from it for a couple of other singles.  I've been listening to a lot of SA recently and it still holds up as a really good album all the way through.  You would probably want to change the order for it live though rather than a straight start to end run through.

keep everything else + SA hits, then drop the worse stuff / less well known to make it fit an hour and you've got the perfect festival set

I would but given you actually called me out for Blatant misogyny I can't be bothered to waste my time doing it. I saw these without even having tiktok installed.

sounds like you can't be bothered to defend yourself either lol

  13. Calling bots chinese is ridiculous

Its just people with tech jobs who know what they are doing. Its not the hardest system to beat, you just need a lot of browsers to increase your odds to near 99%. hardly rocket science

This is very much not for me but a general question I always wonder when I see the state of the audience right by decks if they know they are being filmed and if so why on earth they would want to be, I know this is probably showing my age but if I go to dance I want to just that I don’t want phones or photos of me showing the state I’m in

don't think that many people want to be filmed particularly - its more about being close to the artist, which seems to be popular now

goes hand in hand with the general shift towards people facing the dj

I suppose its a good spot to stand too, your in the crowd but have a good amount of space. if one of my mates wanted to go there i'd probably follow to be with them vs on my own too i suppose

After securing tickets this morning, we can start planning our trip.

First on the agenda, a new tent!

So recommendations please for a 4-man black out tent.

Will only be used once per year for a the festival.

    What should we go for?

4 man as in you want to fit 4 people in it, or 4 man as in you want that much space but it will likely just be 2 of you in it?

Yup. Cheers for the apology for going in on me lot, bloody misogyny you fool!

All the Korean kpop djs over tiktok mostly that just danc behind the decks and visually barely touch anything on....pretend to flick switches and turn them. Not bloody Peggy Gou!

Read above comment, most have more about them than that. It's like watching kpop bands gave their 6 month phase and then they are suddenly djs from nothing.

I'm still confused who your referring to - i sit on tiktok a good hour a day and have never seen this lol

Can you send names / links? I'm intrigued

You mean I repeated wot someone said ( what was said about Fatboy). Other people shouting at clouds now. Tell me the name of a DJ who never plays anyone else's records then!

For the sake of seeing what you have to say - Eric Prydz, Justice, Chemical Brothers?

What?! What does Peggy Gou have to do with it?, I can assure you that she didn't even enter my head in thought.

You're missing the point, Peggy Gou actually djs, what I'm talking about is pretending to mix without even touching the buttons....so you might actually notice if you weren't just presumptuous and twisting what I said lol.

So who were you referring to then?

oh see in my mind, Ally Pally is a £30-40 venue. aside from acts with prestige (thinking The Smile who can get away with a high 50s), it’s always felt like a sub-40 ticket. I’ve been 15-odd times there and for the majority they’ve been around £35

but at this point it’s simply impossible to ignore that every venue is just more expensive now. my gig calendar has drastically shrunk because I simply can’t afford it anymore. to me £50 for Fontaines is silly (love the band, the new single is a scorcher). I’ve seen the likes of Dua Lipa, Hot Chip and Everything Everything there - all around £30. Twenty One Pilots circa Blurryface was £30 - obvs 2016 is a different story. Vampire Weekend and LCD Soundsystem were £45 and £50 respectively. the latter two were exception to the rule pre-pandemic. but I guess it just means we have to expect most shows in larger venues to cost about 50% more. which in turn means I’m going to approx 50% less gigs

    a. quick glance at Dice does indicate almost every show at AP is around £50

I guess it depends what you'd call a larger act

LCD you said were £50 - they are definitely in the larger act bracket imo

but yeah more expensive - i have hardly been to any gigs recently, its all so expensive - tickets aside the drinks just cost a fortune too!

there are lots of stages/areas in the se corner and ive got to admit i dont venture there much. does anyone know in general terms what style of dance music is played in what area? like, how does the dance music in silver hayes differ from arcadia/shangri-la/block 9/the common?

i know things will cross over but im guessing they have differing vibes??

Silver Hayes - mostly tech house

    Block9 - almost entirely techno

    Shangri-la - bit of a mix

The Common - more dnb based

Arcadia is a mix, friday/sat usually very random then sunday has been dnb recent years

What are you looking for? theres a few other bits like beat hotel too

Nope. Gok Wan is a 'fashion guru'. Him getting behind decks sounds as much fun as all the kpop women that are suddenly djs believing they are interesting see behind their length and tightness of their skirts.

Blatant misogyny clearly aimed at Peggy Gou

I don't like much of her recent work but she is a serious artist with proper tracks, has played the berghain etc. you'd notice that if you weren't focused on looking at her skirt
