Do you know how long from email to tickets arriving was? Mate in Ireland’s hasn’t turned up after a week.

It can take a week or two from the email.

The Royal Mail tracking number only became active on Tuesday for me (even though the email was sent nearly a week before)

Slightly tangential, but is this the youngest ever line-up on El Pointo?

Usually there's an act who started their career in - at least - the 70s, and frequently the 60s.

This year the vintage acts are Paul Heaton and Cyndi Lauper.

Had to happen one day of course, but it is missing someone with a pack of standards in their arsenal.

By my count we've 6 spots left on the Pyramid so still some time to balance things out a little.

Defo feels light on the vintage though. Then again, there's only 9 years between Cyndi Lauper's first album and PJ Harvey's... We're all getting very old.

Yes - I've very much moved away from the "traditional" top loading rucksacks, and more towards a hybrid design that also functions as a duffle bag / holdall. If I was buying a new one for myself, today, it'd probably be this one from Decathlon.

Although the size of that may be too large for the question - something that big works well for festivals but may be too big for lugging around Europe.

    +1 to this.

If I was to buy another backpack, I'd be doing the same. Top loading - particularly in a dark tent at a festival - can be a right pain.

    That decathlon one looks great.

  6. They should have a Boiler Room tent at Glasto, seeing the mouldy heads on the background people would be very entertaining

... same last year - we went to Leftfield and FBS and it was an absolute travesty Leftfield didn't get to close the stage. They were incredible, FBS was garbage.

I'm still gutted that I missed Leftfield... going to watch the set again now. Bittersweet.

Thankfully I've tickets for them in Dublin this July but Glasto is always a different level, as we all here know

  8. I usually end up mostly Park/WH/Other but Woodsies has a few more than usual for me this year.

Overall, for me, it's a really nice spread this year (so far). Last year I probably had a couple too many on the Other - looking forward to more wandering again this year!

  10. Yikes. I recognize a grand total on 1 on this drop - Leeroy Thornhill (and that's merely from his short stint in the early days of the Prodigy)

Can you expand on this please. The link just goes to the Anker page but are there a next generation of chargers with more bang for buck?  I could be in the market for a new one but my last Anker was actually a step back from its predecessor in terms of cost / power.

Sorry, I just linked to the main Ankler page as I’ve had lots of great Anklers in the past and they’ve usually got a great selection.

However the one I have at the moment, is this one: https://www.mi.com/uk/product/mi-50w-power-bank-20000/ (wasn’t sure I’d find a UK link but there you go. For any Irish here, you can grab it here: https://www.xiaomi.ie/xiaomi-power-bank-20-000-mah-50w-fast-charge-black-eu/ )

I’ve a Samsung phone that has fast charge and that pack can charge it up fully in a little over an hour. Best pack I’ve ever owned.

Also went through terminal 2 where I didn’t have to unpack my liquids or laptop for security. Massive step up.

It's a game changer - the left half of T1 has the new machines too.

They don't advertise that you can bring as much liquids as you want through on the new machines, either.

  14. I've collected a pretty decent armoury of festival gadgets over the years but here's a handful that are on the essentials list for me:

Collapsible bucket: paired with a few face cloths, fantastic for a quick wash/refresh or a cool down if it's very hot
    https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/folding-camping-bowl-8-litres/_/R-p-123205

D-Rings: Why use your hands when you can clip things to your bag?
    https://amzn.eu/d/eJ63uYc

This Water Sprayer Gadget: Screws on to a 2 little bottle, perfect for a quick shower (hat tip to the efester who highlighted this to me a few years back)
    https://amzn.eu/d/gDG7BhT

Poncho Towel: Perfect for chilling in after a wash at camp (or keep it in your bag so that you can drop in for a quick shower while passing Greenpeace during the off-peak)

    https://amzn.eu/d/eIeMwbd

Mesh Storage: Handy for fresh jocks & socks

    https://amzn.eu/d/fsIT8id

Fairy Lights: They cost next to nothing but work so much better than a torch in your tent at night, particularly in a fresh n' black tent. They also work great outside (if you water proof the battery pack with duct tape)

    https://www.primark.com/en-gb/c/home/home-furnishings/storage-and-accessories/lighting

Battery Pack: This is the obvious one, fast charge is the future!
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/Anker/PowerBanks_FORPHONES/page/8D14F7FE-8C5F-4734-9DBC-5BA057AFE6D8

Lightweight Camping Chair: More expensive that others but they last (or at least mine has - this glasto will be it's 6th festival)
    https://amzn.eu/d/0BQ2Hrd

Dry Bag: Handy for keeping things dry at a wet festival but also doubles up as ice bag for keeping cans cool on a hot day
    https://amzn.eu/d/6bvfXnd

Storage Container: I put everything I'm bringing into the festival in a plastic container (which I also store everything in post festival season). That's booze, a few snacks, toilet roll and anything else I can't fit in my backpack. Makes things gar easier to bring and out of the festival
https://amzn.eu/d/5MELnvR (these are expensive, there are much cheaper ones elsewhere)

Double Sleeping Bag + Real Pillow: Getting enough (decent) sleep is key for me, so I try and make the (black out) tent as comfortable as possible

To save me scrolling through this or other threads, does anyone have any good, current recommendations for sleeping bags please?  Having to buy 4 of them, so it's a balance between price and warmth.  Cheers!

I'm a big fan of our double sleeping bag - if any of the 4 are a couple, they're definitely worth considering (I also find it hard to sleep in single sleeping bags).

Doubles can usually break into two singles also
