Reckon Jessie will be on Other myself instead of headlining a stage again. Kano/another hip hop act for the third headliner maybe.

Also, re: LCD, gotta be noted that none of the headliners of those Dublin shows this year appeared at Glastonbury so despite it seeming awfully convenient, it could result in nothing.

Also f**k LCD clashing with Madonna (don’t think they would with National on Other thankfully).

I reckon LCD and IDLES are a lock.  We know idles love Glasto and they toured with lcd in the states this year.  Surely they discussed doing Glasto. The Dublin date makes me fairly confident

Effectively, each refresh works as a "chance" to get in.

If you "just" go to the page, and leave it alone to do it's thing, then the page will refresh every 20 seconds.

If you refresh manually, then you can go at your own pace (as long as you don't go too fast and trip the 60 in 60 limit).

Have asked before but not sure got a clear answer. Do you wait until the page is fully refreshed before pressing F5 or do we just press F5 again

Reasonable evidence to suggest it's per device....so if there's 2 of you with 2 windows open each you could refresh each window at 30/min.  Yes that would equate to 120/min overall on same IP if you're on a shared wifi connection but it's reasonably certain See differentiate between devices on that similar IP so you should be ok.

If in doubt then have one device on WiFi and the second on a 4/5G hotspot so you definitely then have 2 distinct IP's.

But how would see be able to differentiate if they can only see a Public IP?

Another question, do you wait until the page fully loads before refreshing again? Important for auto-refresh

Hi everyone, we’ve got a 4 person WV Bell Tent that we can’t return now (we managed to get a tipi, so don’t need this anymore).  These go for £875 when available, so we’re willing to sell for £800 or a reasonable offer.  Let me know if you’re interested or know anyone else!  We have the confirmations etc!!

All just wanted to bump this one up after all the commotion of full lineup yesterday. Still needing to sell :)

This is still available if anybody is interested. They are sold out on the seetickets website and we have a confirmation email from seetickets that we can transfer to another lead booker (which can we share).

This is still available everyone. So bumping up.

Whenever I’ve found myself really enjoying Fred, I’m always thinking ‘this sounds like Bicep’.

Disagree with this. Love them both but Bicep is far less accessible to the common person.
Fred Again is pretty much instantly catchy has way more vocals and also takes influences from 90s 00s electronic scene.

Bicep is phenomenal but their music is less “mainstream” and much better live than on record.

Right now Fred has managed to traverse the line of “my music is so cool that mainstream and non mainstream people love me”

let’s just hope Fred keeps it up and doesn’t go Calvin on us where only mainstream people love him

  9. My suggestions:

    1. Obviously fix the problems when people get in it freezes times out / banking issues. Once you are in you should be able to get your ticket

    2. Reducer server capacity. This makes it into a 5 hour sale. Only the people who really want to go with press F5 for 5 hours. I can imagine the casual observer giving up after 1 hour.

I know people have responsibilities and 5 hours is a long time but equally it is once a year. Could start sale at 7am so it is done by Midday.

  10. Just for people who can't be bothered scrolling through the whole thing (which included me so apologies for my dumb questions which had already been answered@p.pete @parsonjack

    - 1 browser - refresh 60 times per minute

    - 1 4g phone - refresh 60 times per minute

If you use multiple browsers you may increase your chances but it comes at a huge risk. People have tested it on here and on balance it appears a risk not worth taking.

Quite.  There's also the risk around session cookies and the confusion it can cause to the back end servers where multiple tabs/browsers are being used on the same device.

GF (Emily I think...) have warned against this in the past, and I've no reason to doubt that it's been said for anything other than good advice where it comes to maximising your chances.

Thanks @parsonjack@p.pete  On the cookies point, is that not solved by having Private mode on all the browsers you try?

It sounds like you guys think the risk is too high which I think is right. You would rather 100% know that you have 60 chances per second than be in the hands of the gods by trying to get to 100 or something. And we don't have a clue how many servers there are - imagine its a few to manage traffic but who knows

    So in summary safe approach:

    - 1 browser refreshing 60 times per minute

    - 1 4G phone refreshing 60 times per minute

    Dangerous but potential reward approach:

    - Private Browser 1 - refreshing 30 times per minute

    - Private Browser 2 - refreshing 30 times per minutes

    - Private Browser 3 - refreshing 40 times per minute

    - 1 4G phone refreshing 60 times per minute

Extreme Danger but massive reward approach:

    - Private Browser 1 - refreshing 60 times per minute

    - Private Browser 2 - refreshing 60 times per minutes

    - Private Browser 3 - refreshing 60 times per minute

    - 1 4G phone refreshing 60 times per minute

    Does that make sense?

At the end of the day control the controllable (spreadsheets, organisation, no drinking night before, try post sold out, have enough credit / funds, etc etc) and the rest is luck.

    Just catching up on this....

Question 1 - As far as we can determine the system works basically as you suggest, where requests from potential customers are directed in turn via load balancing technology to a number of booking engine servers that allocate sessions if/when available or present the 'busy' page if not.  *IF* it was possible to bypass load-balancing and direct requests to specific servers then you could potentially fire off huge amounts of requests per second by scaling up browsers and devices as you suggest, and yet stay within the 60/minute limit.  The issues here are that a. we don't fully understand whether the rate limiting is via IP, device, a combination of the 2 or otherwise, b. there's no easy way to bypass the load-balancing, c. there are no guarantees that using multiple browsers on a single device contributes to the limiting in the way multiple tabs on same browser does, d. a 1/second refresh rate is probably too quick to know if you have a session before it fires again, and e. it would be nigh impossible to mange such a set up in practice.

Question 2 - Correct. Load-balancing will remove a degree of risk where multiple devices share the same external IP, but to fully eliminate this the rate-limiting is almost certainly based upon a combination of IP and device identity ie MAC address.  We don't know for sure though.

Question 5 - No/Yes  Breaching the 60/minute limit automatically presents you with the same 'busy' page as when the server is genuinely busy. Subsequent refreshes will keep giving you that 'busy' page until your refresh rate falls below 60/minute.  The rub here is that as it's the same 'busy' page in both circumstances you can't be sure if you have it because the system is genuinely busy, or you have breached the limit.

Good Man. Thanks for this. Most interested on 1 here. Am I right in saying there is a risk / reward angle on multiple browsers then?

So if I had say 3 browsers running auto-refresh of 1 per second and I am lucky enough that they all allocated different booking engine servers due to the load balancing technology, I would end up with 180 refreshes per minute?

However we have no way to determine which engine server we get sent to - so those 3 browsers could go to the same one, in which case you will easily breach the limit.

So if we assumed there were 5 different booking engine servers and i wanted to take full risk - I would go for 300 per 60 seconds. However, if i wanted to play it safe I would just do the normal 60 (on one browser). Somewhere in the middle would be 150. Your choice is where you want to sit on the risk spectrum?

Does any of that make sense?

    Can't answer all these but:

1 - Don't think this would work but not certain, better just using other IPS

2 - You'd get the locked out screen if so - best hope nobody else is trying. If this is the case, you would know so could at least focus on mobile data.

3 - London is massive. 10 million people plus people like me coming from home counties etc. Probably not worth thinking about this kind of thing - just scramble if it comes to it and have planned backups for helpers 🙂

4 - Extra IP on same device

    5 - there's a minute cooldown i think

Thanks. On 4 - are you saying you could do incognito on firefox chrome edge etc and they all have a diff IP meaning you could get 180 refreshes per 60?

  14. Hope everyone is doing ok with the nerves given we are only a week and 2 days away.

Trying to get a consensus on a few things. Have tried to read through the thread but can't come to any conclusions here:

Question 1 (Multiple Browsers/ IP 60 second limit):   Based on this thread I think the way it works is that there a multiple load balancing servers which will test the 60 second limit.

So I was on 5 separate load balancing servers I could potentially have Firefox, Chrome. Edge. Brave, Incognito all running and get 300 refreshes per second (if using an auto-refresh).

The risk with the above is that you could end up on the same load balancing server so you would easily breach the 60 seconds per IP.

Is the above in anyway accurate or am I just talking crap?

Question 2 (IP 60 Second Limit for multiple people in same location): Dumb question but if you were trying in an office that normally houses 1000 people and say 10 people were trying in that office, would you be screwed because they are all on the same IP (not withstanding the load balancer point above).  Feels very harsh.

Question 3 (Coach locations): Is there any consensus on the coach locations that people believe are less popular or easier to book than others? London perhaps the easiest because they have so many departure times?

Question 4 (Private Incognitio): Does this make any difference at all?

Question 5 (IP 60 Second Limit Breach): If you breach this, are you kicked out forever or can you return once you stop pressing F5 for a short period of time?

I think most of the other tips on here are pretty self explanatory (spreadsheets, keyboard shortcuts, available credit, no person in 2 groups etc, keep trying after "sold out")

@parsonjack You seem to have the most knowledge (appreciate you are speculating like the rest) 🙂

Thanks in advance and good luck to all.
