Wild beer has been bought out and back brewing
That’s good news, hope they don’t alter Pogo!

Yeah very true, although I thought these were quite low alcohol? Which I guess may be a good thing, but in terms of weight versus % it may not be ideal.

Last year I took some Jubel Grapefruit/Peach and some Pogo Wild Beer to see how they were luke warm. I’ll probably only take Jubel as my beer this year as it was great to drink despite the temperature. I prefer Pogo but sadly Wild Beer have gone belly up.

Does anyone have much experience of the speed Big Ground fills up on Wednesday? Specifically the top end, towards the farm rather than the Pyramid. Our plan it to be arriving into the car parks at about 7am on the Wed morning with 2 smallish tents. Am I kidding myself in thinking we'll find a spot for 2 tents by lunchtime (maybe, queue allowing?) on the Wednesday?
I’ve camped in Big Ground/Kidney Meads the last five festivals, I arrive at Gate A by coach around 7:30am and I’m usually in and tent up by midday latest. My friends drive and join Gate B queue around 5:30am, they usually get in around the same time. By midday Big Ground is filling up but you would find room for two tents together further from the paths, in the centre of the field. Last year by about 3pm both fields felt completely full and I wouldn’t have wanted to arrive then. The field tends to fill up from the end nearest the farm as this is closest to the gate, Big Ground seems to fill up first and the last bit of Kidney Mead to fill is usually the section near the Kids Field side.

The last few times (and this year as well) has been the national express coach from Bristol at 6:30am. Usually arrive at gate A by 7:45am, then join the back of the queue which starts moving pretty quickly. We have friends who drive and arrive at about 5/5:30am and join the Gate B queue. We all camp together in Big Ground so it’s first through the gate and at the campgrounds who claims the spot and sends location to the others. This is usually us who have come via coach as Gate A queue has always been swifter, but last year it didn’t, the Gate A queue took significantly longer than Gate B and we ended up being the last of our group through the gates and to that campsite, don’t think I was set up until about 12:30/1pm.

Finally signed up for Birmingham half marathon, been training for it for months but didn’t want to commit until I was sure I was going to be ready. 6 weeks out and I can comfortably run 18km, now just need to get the time down to get a PB on race day!

had my leg massage yesterday which was lovely, and today i've discovered the leg massager machines which are available to buy. has anyone tried them? how were they?
I have a massage gun, those with various attachments that vibrate at different speeds, I only really use the ball shaped attachment though. I use it after running, have to say I love the thing, use it almost daily and find it really helps, hurts whilst using but afterwards the muscle is much looser and less painful.

I missed Sam Fender to get to the front for Foals. It was simultaneously my biggest regret and totally worth it. Looked like the best sub set ever
Watched all of Sam then had a slow walk over to Foals, where I easily walked up to about 5 people from the front of the stage. Not sure if it was luck or because of massive crowd movements but certainly helped contribute to a great Friday night!

Christ going to have to remortgage to afford a hotel though!

The arena is tiny compared to something like the O2 so even "in the gods" will give you a decent experience.
Oh that’s good, I’m well excited

What time did you manage to get through?
Bit of a blur if I’m honest, email confirmation came through at 12:02 though so must have been quick

Unbelievable luck and got through and snapped up 2 for the Live Grand final. Delighted, should be a right laugh, even if we are in the gods!

Did my first 10 mile run of the year yesterday, took 85mins so not the quickest but it didn’t feel to difficult and like I had something left in the tank at the end, maybe due to the cold weather. Certainly suffering from it today though, legs stiff as tree trunks!

I saw it, it was like a mini crazy golf. wasn't massive and wasn't sure if you had to pay (maybe a deposit)
Oh right cool, judging by the picture I’d have definitely walked past it at some point, I know I wondered past that bus and stage. Must have been worse for wear at the time, so could have been any point of the five days!

Young Fathers
Elton
Pheonix
War on Drugs
Chvrches
(Phoenix are one of the only bands on the poster I would go see, but haven’t seen before)

I find a small bottle of actual hand soap better than using hand sanitiser, which just builds up on your hands.
Obviously the lenor bottle is well known and sports tablets like SIS, taken just before bed help prevent/reduce hangovers.

I know a couple of folks who went and raved about it

8 hours ago, t0paz said:Yeah, I was there too. Really like the new album and it comes over great live. It’ll be interesting where they get billed at Glasto. Would be great late on on either the Park or WH but could equally see them in JP or on Other.
I can’t speak highly enough about them, I’m sure wherever they play they will smash it!

Saw Young Fathers last night, just incredible, such an intense live presence!

Weekly mileage has been increased over the last month or so, and hit 500miles year-to-date last Thursday. My easy pace has also increased with the added mileage, seems I’m able to maintain a quicker pace easier. Just in time for Christmas excess to ruin everything and put me back to square one haha

Of six groups, one group got coach tickets and two were successful today, so very happy and grateful to be in a successful group but feel awful for our three groups that are ticketless!

Tickets for Finsbury Park purchased by 9:03am, hope Sundays sale is that smooth!

Berocca and some painkillers if needed, hangovers aren’t as bad since I started taking SIS tablets before going to sleep, so painkillers rarely required now. Then walk over to No Bones Jones and grab something, usually the vegetable pakoras with tomato salsa and feta & watermelon salad. It’s nice and fresh and feels like a healthy start to the day. Use to also have a beer with it to start the day but now I try not to start drinking until slightly later in the day.
