BA have released a new flight, £125 return from Manc - Barcelona on the Wed - Sunday
Just jumped right all over it so Primavera here we come!!
EDIT - now gone up to £376. Today must be my lucky day,
Awesomeness.
-
Day tickets will sell out soon.
-
The Sunday afternoon gigs are public access. And you might easily find a group that are flying out on the Sunday and then you can ask to take their wristbands and go to the Sunday night closing gigs!
-
That is really bad luck and annoying.
I hope I'm wrong but i was my understanding that only full tickets granted access to the Weds and Sunday gigs in the City.
And also I'd be surprised if you could pick up day tickets on the day before they are issued. You could go there each afternoon (no queue), leave and come back later at least.
And the Weds night gigs in the Forum (Goat and Suede etc) are free to everyone (i.e. even people who don't have any ticket)

Got my ticket a few days ago - it's happening!!!!
Congrats Tuna. Very happy for you!

Although you successfully downvoted everything else I wrote with your usual discipline and determination, you forgot to give a negative vote to my comment about Lubomyr Melnik.
To help you, it's just a little up from about half way up the page...
-
Wow indeed. I guess it might feel a little more crowded this year but that's the price to pay for such a stellar lineup.
-
Sorry, in hindsight I agree that AC or Beirut will play ATP or Rayban but think it will be AC and that they will clash with Radiohead
Main stages should be
Beirut -> BH -> LSP -> Radiohead
-
All of Radiohead/Beach House/Beirut/Animal Collective will indeed be on the two main stages so no clashes between them.
-
For Friday, Lubomyr Melnik (early on in the Auditori surely) on the piano will add some great variety to the day and is a wonderful performer. Often compared to Nils Frahm, his music reminds me more of Yann Tierson.

Alot of talk about getting there early for radiohead, I'm assuming this just means getting to the front? Radiohead are one of my favourite bands, but i'm very much a sit at the back and have a beer kind of guy.
Yeah, the two main stages are massive and inconcevable to think you wouldn't be able to see them from afar if you turned up at the last minute.

Kickstarter needs to come up with a Festival Catheter for people who don't want to give up a good spot and they'll make a mint.

Just sip a little between every band. Managed to stay over 12 hours without having to go at some other festivals doing that
Can't compete with what is clearly a bladder of steel!

Damn, Sunday morning? That is brutal - you'll be completely shattered.
-
Great that everyone has different preferences.
For Saturday discothequedave, on't know what she's like live but Juia Holter's last album is classy. And Deerhunter always!
If you're hanging around neontiger, Ty Segall and Parquet Courts are playing Sunday also.
-
Hehe, yeah a bit desperate
-
I'm planning on drinking no liquids so no danger of being forced away by call of nature and losing spot!
-
Yeah, Thursday is absolutely brutally good. Going to see Radiohead will necessitate getting their really early and at least Friday is a bit less packed.
One option for some is to find a fest with a similar lineup to at least remove some of the pain. I'll go to Field Day in London and see all the bands that overlap there.
To whoever takes time out of their day to downvote almost every comment I make, have you thought about getting a life?
-
Pretty sure Suede will have the last slot in the auditori, as the biggest act there that day (unless they have a flight to catch that night). The clashes on Thursday can only be distressing.
-
Yeah I'm arriving on the Monday for the same reason.
The festival is great!
Barcelona, no less so!
-
Where the Sunday evening gigs are held usually (big venue in town)
-
Yeah Sundays are fun and nice not to feel pressured. The queues for Sunday Apollo were hellish last year though and it was crazy hot and crowded.
The only thing I would strongly recommend against is getting there mid-evening on Thursday or - worse - leaving Sunday morning.
-
The train is the more pleasant option, environmentally friendly and high-speed but looks quite expensive so I have two connecting Iberia flights.
-
I'm flying back via Madrid on the Sunday but booked in September.
Madrid's a massive airport so I'd make sure it's a connecting flight and best hurry if not much time between flights.

Thanks. I have my strong suspicions (and it's definitely no one I know) but I won't say on here.
There's a saying I remember my great-grandmother whispering to me in the cot - 'If someone wants to be a dickhead in life, well let them be the very best dickhead they can be'.
