  1. Just listened to Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, very impressive! Frank Turner had a good chance of being added to the Saturday as he's the main support for Blink 182's uk tour. Another possibility is Jimmy eat world, as they're in Germany before and after the festival.

A few more indie acts would be welcomed (Foster the people, circa waves), but right now the only poor day is friday, and even then you have Radiohead playing!

  2. Listened out of curiosity after hearing the lead single, always thought the xx were a it marmite, but this new record is great! Always fun to see a band try something new.

I used to really dislike him and then I saw him live, he's such a good performer and he loves playing his guitar and getting the crowd going. There are many worse acts and you could be converted if he ends up playing!

Agreed - saw him at Glastonbury and he nailed it, imagine he would sub? Possibly for Foo Fighters?

  4. Any thoughts for who the last two sub headliners will be?

Under Radiohead - Bon Iver or Frank Ocean, both would fit well and possibly too big to play in the barn.

Under Foos - Pixies (touring, cheaper option as Foos will sell tickets on their own) or Ed Sheeran (rumoured for Glastonbury, big pop act to balance out all the rock acts so far).

To see KoL headline 65,000 capacity Hyde Park this summer will cost about £70. Like them or not, it's pretty incredible they're playing Werchter and not topping the bill...

They are headlining - as ridiculous as it sounds sometimes they have two headliners a night.

Thursday is the hardest day to sell out, expect a dance act after KOL/AF, hopefully Deadmau5!

    Howdy all, two quick questions:

    1. Are one of System or LP outright headliners or are they co-headlining?

    2. Which festivals tend to share acts with RW and which festivals tend to be separate?

    1. I would expect both to get 90 mins, maybe system 75 and linkin park 90, no major difference.

    2. Anything from early June to mid/late July - usually they won't share big acts with the other big festivals in Belgium (Pukkelpop, Graspop, Rock Werchter Classic)

Anyone think QOTSA may play before foo fighters? A new album must be on the cards!

  7. Having a go at the lineup, purely guesswork on who should have albums out by summer:

    Thursday - the gaslight anthem/ the libertines/ blink 182/ muse/ the prodigy

    Friday - royal blood/ fall out boy/ noel gallagher / kanye west/ deadmau5

    Saturday - counting crows/ frank ocean/ ed sheeran/ coldplay/ disclosure

Sunday- a day to remember/ weezer/ faith no more/ jack white/ foo fighters

Definitely no qotsa as the tour ended last night, feel free to rip the lineup to pieces :)

  8. Soooooo...

I'm flying from Doha into Gatwick overnight on 25-26th. I land at Gatwick at 0720 on the 26th, so I'm thinking of getting the Eurostar to Brussels and going to Werchter.

I can't be arsed with trying for Glasto tickets, and I've always wanted to go to Werchter.

So, how the hell do I get there from Brussels on Day 2 of the festival? Will there be space camping, and do they have VIP camping?

Liam, never gone via Eurostar, but once you're at brussels, take the train from brussels to leuven, and then there's shuttle buses from leuven train station taking you to werchter. The train/bus is included in the price of the ticket, and is a simple journey.

Weezer would make me buy a ticket, seem them once and it was great! Loads from the blue album. Would love faith no more but can't see it, they'll headline PP or dour.

In terms of headliners/subs, foos, prodigy, elbow seem like a decent bet!

  9. No chances for editors, they've headlined werchter twice and pukkelpop, saw on the pukkelpop forum demand was down for the day tickets on editors day. If Coldplay don't play werchter boutique, they'll play, promoting the new album and always a crowd pleaser with the werchter crowd.

  10. Andy tweeted earlier responding about Biffy being booked saying "Depends how strong the next record and tour is..." so I don't reckon they're doing next year.

Judas Priest subbing GNR if it's the three that people think it is would be good. Then FNM can sub AC/DC and I can consider the purchase of a day ticket.

Think there's a good chance of biffy headlining. Inbetween albums, bill it as the only UK show of 2015, they'd smash it. Plus not a lot of competition for biffy, already headlined iow/T/r&l recently, and not the type of act to headline V.

Or just book pearl jam, day tickets would sell out!

  11. Have you listened to the 2nd law? Clearly wasn't made with keeping the current Muse fans happy

I meant it was more a case of muse doing whatever they wanted, rather than needing the big radio singles etc. Even In a slight decline, they are one of the biggest bands of the last ten years.

  12. Few people have mentioned kings of leon in this thread. Would argue muse and kings of leon are both in a similar position, both have hit the stadium level, are now focusing on the fan base they have, rather than trying to win over more people. Naturally, with that, some of the fair weather fans will drop off, but both bands are still a big deal!

  13. For the dance acts, would think prodigy (new album, surely?), deadmau5 could be in with a shout having played before and a new album on the way. Definitely think RW will get foo fighters next year.

Stretchryan - massive Faith no more fan as well, but they would either play before the headliners or in the barn.
