Sadly the worst social media in the history of the world aren’t doing that! Still confused why they don’t make more effort

The 3 guys who said they wanted to start Victorious up to replace V festival and make it the same as the earlier V's took it too far when they copied V festival's non existent social media.

The two worst social media for festivals ever. By far.

Victorious always decide to clash acts that likely have the same fanbase.

    Fatboy Slim - Jess Glynne

    Jamie T - Pixies

    Biffy Clyro - Wet Leg

They never used to, but it seems to be something they've done recent years.

Unless they're going to start staggering the stages so the Castle headliner plays between the main stage gap, that is a pretty big gap usually it's about 50 minutes isn't it

So next Wednesday then ?  The 6th

Could literally be any day next week, they don't seem to have a pattern. I'd imagine they won't leave it later than next week, I think might be start of the week rather than the end of, as has been said, that Fatboy name has been up for a week.

Anyone on tour who they might be waiting on finishing?

    👀 🙂

So you still thinking Catfish, or they pulled out to do Reading?

Be first time Reading and Leeds have a headliner playing Victorious as well same weekend, usually they don't even share ANY acts at all, let alone a headliner, there's been the odd exception, Bastille was one but in the past 10 years plus, there's been maybe 5 acts total that have played both the same weekend.

I don't think Catfish are ruled out myself, but I'm unsure without looking if there has ever been a headliner shared.

Noel and Pulp I think have to be almost odds on. I think Noel will do at least two of Victorious, Kendall and Y Not.

    Catfish are absolutely ruled out.

It's also funny pretty much every year for the past 4 years? Maybe more, on here it's people saying Noel must be nailed on, then never plays 😂

Is Fatboy Slim really big enough to headline a Festival of this size? I’m a bit out of touch these days but it seems like a bit of a stretch? Castle Stage maybe?

Rudimental and The Streets have both headlined sadly and I'd put Fatboy probably on par with the Streets and above Rudimental (possibly the worst booking ever, mind you I was at Bloc Party on castle stage, who were awesome)

Suppose it all matters on who is available and who is charging what fee.

Some years Victorious looks stacked and other years looks weak in this regard

I don’t know enough about them but are they bigger than Suede?

It's not always about that, sometimes it's about who's available and who is willing to play what slot.

The fact they're a US act who isn't always available (although they have toured UK more in recent years, they used to be a HUGE rarity) throws more to the equation.

They could also play the early special slot as sometimes Victorious throws some right big acts in there don't they. But I doubt they would play that slot.

Go give Doolittle album a listen, one of my all-time favourite albums.

Yeah could certainly sub/headline the 2nd stage based on previous years

Honestly they're big enough to headline main stage, depending on who they can get next year and who is actually available. The bookers are big old school fest fans and they might see them big enough to headline main and whack a pop act on castle.

I saw Pixies headline Reading in 2005. They were bloody amazing just look at that line up though...

They don't make them like that anymore

  9. I just came in to mention Pixies, surely they HAVE to have got them finally. With a UK date Wednesday, 2 days before the Friday of Victorious.

And it's far enough away as well.

I see Ashcroft is also playing that same venue. The start of August, so he's about.

Also interestingly Fatboy Slim is playing that venue the Saturday of Victorious. That MIGHT rule him out

  10. The fact that in that interview he made sure he namechecked Biffy Clyro and then said fans need to get behind these acts and not be so dismissive, oh you better bet your life he's planning that they are going to be a Download headliner every single album cycle from now on.

Unquestionably. I'm not sure KOL sold all their tickets to their UK tour last year, but it was a shorter run than what Gallagher is doing.

KOL would be a good fit for Victorious tbf.

The issue with this is even though they've fell off they would still command a chunky fee and Victorious out of all of Superstruct festivals book the most big names out of all of them, with this I mean 3 main headliners, 3 large subs, 3 Castle headliners, 3 early afternoon acts, then sizeable 3rd down main and castle subs. That right there is 18 acts. Then they have quite a lot of name acts throughout the 2 main stages and even started to book decent names on other stages.

Compare it to say Boardmasters who have no way near the depth but they will spend on headliners more.

Until Victorious struggles selling without BIG headliners I don't think they'll start doing it. A UK name like Pulp is more likely, I think they just get outbid on the US names. But who knows eh.

You literally just deleted the sentence where I explained that.

I regret mentioning it, trust me 😂

You learn after so long, just say nothing on here. Year after year I would come on and say headliners and other acts and year after year people would call you a liar the next year, the absolute best was when I confirmed Lost Prophets headlining a year in advance (before even the festival) and people STILL say that was lies and they were a last minute booking.

    They absolutely was not.

The other best one was when I said Muse were headlining V a year in advance and I had everyone under the sun saying it was wrong and when it was announced everyone just STFU and didn't cool.

Yeah there's some great people on here and most have sadly moved on due to the negativity on here but it's honestly just not worth the hassle dude.

There's still quite a few tickets available for their tour

Generally unless you're massive, artists will have difficulty shifting all seating tickets.

Standing though I think went pretty quickly and that's what Download will look at.

  14. Oh and Pearl Jam, they said they would never play Download as they felt they didn't want to be playing a festival with the line ups Download has, they wanted more mainstream multi genre line ups, hence why they've played other Live Nation (and other promoters) UK festivals but never Download.

So don't get your hopes up.
