Probably going to go to that. I think I'm addicted to the self titled album. Would have preferred The Smith Street Band supporting them like on their US tour but God Damn are good.
God Damn aren't supporting, the Goddamn Band are the name of Kevin Devine's backing group

Heck to headline Reading 2016
Yellow and I are cousins who share the same computer
-
Entry price is worth it for Kevin Devine alone
-
Wild Throne was pretty fun
Been convinced by a friend to go to Brixton tomorrow to see these
-
Shitwife are one of the best live bands I have ever seen
It felt like what I imagine seeing DFA1979 back in '04 would have felt like; completely original, utterly visceral

Do you write a post and then run it eight times through Korean Google Translate

It's probably more down to the fact that they weren't able to do the Wembley shows; if those support slots had gone ahead they would have received a lot of press in music mags and played in front of 180,000 people
I think they're now focusing on cracking the US; they're sorted in the UK for a good while

Just noticed that Huw Stephens has R+L news on his show tomorrow, probably a BBC Introducing announcement

New CHVRCHES is fantastic; can see the album doing really well if it's of this kind of quality -
Drenge are now definitely supporting Wolf Alice on their UK tour; received an email from Bandsintown

If the festival fought harder for the more popular V acts at the expense of the veteran Reading bands who no longer appeal massively to teens then I could see the festival selling very very well
-
In certain respects it seems as though this year's line up attempted to appeal to a slightly older demographic, what with Metallica, the strong Lock Up stage and bookings like Alexisonfire, American Football, etc. However it seems that the older crowd are now completely disinterested in going because of the beer-swilling yoofs and the yoofs aren't too fussed about going because the tickets are so expensive and the line up isn't appealing enough to justify it
Soon I reckon Calvin Harris/Avicii will get booked out of desperation for sales, the festival will move closer to a V/wireless demographic and it'll continue to spiral in that direction until one year it's licence gets revoked by the council after 86 kids die from trying to inject NOS cannisters in to their stomachs or some bollocks

I was at the front for Jamie Lenman and there was tons of space so there shouldn't be much worry about getting in to the tents
I remember Three Trapped Tigers was pretty fully but they were headlining one of the smaller tents and even then my friends and I still managed to watch the set on the barrier a fair bit to the left -
Has anyone else seen that Leeds are struggling for volunteers?

2015
in V Festival
I saw Calvin Harris headline a festival in '14 and he had all the charisma of someone who plays music on dodgem rides
'Let me see those hands'
'Shabba'

Nothing to do with Reading, but does anyone know any good festivals near the Bath/Bristol area?
Besides NASS (too expensive for what it is) and Ghostfest ?
Thanks
2000trees is excellent and I've heard only great things about ArcTanGent

I stood about three rows behind Florence at the Bootleg Beatles; she looked as though she was having the time of her life

Anyone know who the singalong covers band were on Thursday afternoon at Williams green? It was bloody hot, & that's about all I can remember
Ol Dirty Brasstards

Williams Green on Thursday. Laughable.
I got there 40 minutes before Drenge came on and the tent was already heaving
-
Kanye West
DFA1979
Hinds
The Libertines
The Districts
Honourable mentions also go out to Burt Bacharach, Drenge, Gretchen Peters and The Unthanks who I was so in awe of I almost dropped my cider bus pint
-
Look out for pickpockets and generally angry people

Fair do's.
The logistics of organising that sort of rebate would be a nightmare though, and legally it's somewhat dangerous as you're setting a precedent. Plus the festival will know how many people tried for tickets this year and didn't get them. They could assume 20% of people might be pissed off but if they know at least 20% more people were trying to buy tickets they don't have to worry.
Yeah that's fair enough; I think they should do a token gesture just to keep people sweet though, but that's just as a business decision, personally I'm more than happy with the weekend ahead of me
All is forgiven by the way, I get just as passionate about the festival with other people don't worry haha

IIRC South West Trains run services from Reading to London Waterloo so it should still be possible to get back in to London
It's not gonna be pretty though
