  1. Big Ground....several years in a row, too difficult to gain consensus with a big group to change.

Positives: Flooding in some years made us on higher ground feel in the right place, can be lazy and watch the Pyramid stage from afar

Negatives: Too far from some of the best parts of the festival, you now have to be there early Wednesday to get room for many tents

  2. All newbies who 'come out' should come out by giving their predictions for the 3 headliners - all of the rest of us are utter crap at predicting them, as the headliners thread indicates after 8000 posts! The first newbie who gives the correct 3 headliners (before the officail announcemnt!) gets a pear cider from me this June!
  3. In alphabetical order >>

    AC/DC

    Aerosmith

    Black Sabbath

    Bon Jovi

    Foo Fighters

    Guns n Roses

    Green Day

    Iron Maiden

    KISS

    Led Zeppelin

    Metallica

    Pearl Jam

    Rammstien

    Slipknot

    System Of A Down

would all be unexpected headliners. Who I think would be pretty damn good on the pyramid

  4. I'm wondering what the ticket office would say if I just rang them up and said that accidentally we have put the wrong photo on his ticket?

maybe do it once he has actually received his ticket though. That way they can at least make allowances at the gate as they know it was just an administrative error and not all booked under the same order.

  5. So, obviously Fleetwood Mac aren't playing Glastonbury as per their USA tour schedule, so makes me wonder about other rumours.

Just my thoughts, I love Radiohead, but the festival shouldn't get into too much repeat performances, many people will have seen them at Glastonbury more than once already....

  6. There's a huge change since I've been going in most people arriving earlier and earlier, we've mainly camped on Big Ground, first year it was me and about 20 others for the first two hours or so, now, it's getting really full two hours after the gates have opened.

So in my mind that's good, it's practically a 5 day festival (With music even on the Wednesday now) whereas before not much official happening until Friday.

  7. Easy to identify 2004 as our worst year, got in late, wanted to camp centrally after feeling cut off in a camper van the previous year, ended up in the corner of a camping area just below the Glade, and adjoining the old Radio One set up. So all night it was mud oozing everywhere, awash with vomit (mine & others), and the tssssh boom boom mega-loud from Radio One. Sleep deprivation got to me eventually....

Best 2009 I think....but if you remember, you weren't really there as they say...

  8. So if I leave my little tent up in the back garden forever, it magically becomes a non-tent as it is permanent?

And if a frame and canvas cover is a tent, then that's a bloody massive tent in North Greenwich!
