Reckon the Park headliners are shaping up to be Khurangbin / Caribou / Courtney Barnett or Fontaines DC
Though it would be nice if they shoved Caribou in a West Holts sub slot or something as that Saturday slot would be much better with a Mitski or Pheobe in it.

Caribou is playing Saturday. Presumably our Saturday Park headliner, which is where we thought he was in 2020.
Sigh. The deadest Saturday night in Glastonbury history rolls on.

Does the schedule usually come quite late then (been to Porto edition, but was years ago and I can't remember)? Was hoping to do some line-up revision once I actually know who I'll be seeing.
was 10 May in 2019

Interesting they don't reference The Killers in either of the backstage running orders shown in this

Where would we expect to see Arcade Fire in The North? Manchester? Which venue?
Hebden Bridge Trades Club 🤞

The Queen dying would be all the more reason to have a massive party in a field.

Hope we get more than just London, surely they won't come over for just one gig? Let's get them at The Ritz in Manchester.
Pretty sure it was specifically a tour rumoured for me, so sounds like there will be more EU dates to come. I'm sure we'll get a not-London one.

Well the title is stupid

I got pulled over for one of the random bag searches in 2017 and the security guard told me they were there for explosives and firearms and definitely not drugs.
I directed him to my glass jar of salsa (which I had completely just not appreciated was actually glass until that moment) and he didn’t go anywhere near my stash in the middle of my bag. Piece of piss getting stuff in.
EDIT: In case it wasn’t obvious I got called over by the geezer. I didn’t get sniffed by a dog looking for explosives…

Have we any idea where / when Big Thief are playing? They're shaping up to be one of my must-sees - seems they're in Cologne on the 23rd and Brussels on the 28th so any day is possible really at this point.
They were on the Park in 2020 (they were on the playlist) so I would think they’d stay there. But we don’t know anything more than that, no.

Really wish there was a way this post and its updates could be pinned to the top as I'm always searching for it?
Neil has a page dedicated to this stuff tbf, which is think is mostly up to date. You can find it by going to the ‘festivals’ section of the website, searching for Glasto and clicking on ‘line up’.
Otherwise I will try to post more regular updates 🙂

and realistically it would be, leaked out!
Would be more than that tbh, these guys are crap at keeping a secret. If it happens I’m expecting posters to be plastered round the site and those eye logo stickers everywhere. Be one of these easiest secret sets to find out about I reckon.

It's certainly a way for an act that either is, or considers themselves to be a headliner to play a lower slot and save face.
Has it ever actually worked out like that though? The two biggest acts to ever do it as far as I can remember are Radiohead and The Killers and they’ve both come back and headlined 🤷
Then you’ve got acts like Vampire Weekend who were on the lineup already and Foals who were never really a serious headline contender anyway.

Let’s be honest, they are doing a secret set at Coachella because their chances of being asked back there to headline is probably slim too. They’ve been backed into a corner where they can’t come back to the big festivals as a headliner, so a special set is really the only way to do it.
I don’t think this is true. They’re doing a surprise set because it fits in with their spontaneous touring schedule at the moment. They’ve just been announced as a headliner for one of Canada’s biggest music festivals (filling in for one of the biggest bands in the world, no less).
I would be kinda surprised if they never headlined Glastonbury again to be honest. I imagine the pieces will fall into place one year. There isn’t a lot of other places for them to go in the UK (APE and Latitude is basically it, they’re never doing IOW) and they’re much more of a festival band than an own-gig-in-a-big-field band. They’re a critically acclaimed booking now in the same vein as Radiohead or The Cure (although obviously not quite as big) so they’ll definitely be on the festival’s radar, just probably won’t ever be a first choice. Put them with a Taylor Swift and an Arctic Monkeys and nobody‘s going to bat an eyelid.

Ahh okay! And who are Marshall and Ruby?
Marshall Vore and Ruby Rain Henley. Marshall co-wrote half of Phoebe’s debut album and then was on drums for the majority of Punisher. I think he used to tour with her too but can’t remember.
Don’t know anything about Ruby other than she’s Marshall’s girlfriend and they record together!

I like it. Particularly the slight change up/piano that comes in at 2.51.
Seems like it was written for the new Sally Rooney show as suggested.
It was written by Marshall and his girlfriend (and I’m assuming Phoebe but nobody seems to know for sure) a couple of years ago - was on sound cloud for ages but got taken down this week:
but yeah it’s been re-recorded for the TV show

Only original song this year according to the presser.
