Look how empty wicket is! I really hope they give some of that back to general camping this year..

Was just about to say the same. Absolute waste of space. Thought we had found our new permanent home in 2022 just about halfway up the path to the right of Wickett. The field never filled up even before they expanded it, so no idea why they felt they had to.

Duvet rather than sleeping bag ? How do you pack that ? Surely bulky

fitted sheet, pillow and duvet all in a vacuum bag shrinks considerably. Get a little rechargable bed pump to shrink it down again for return journey.

My crappy pound shop vacuum bag split last year before I could repack it, but its easier on the way out as all the drink has gone

What about the area around John peel is that the same as last year ?

This is what I want to know.

Thought we had found our new permanent spot in 22 but last year they had given the whole area over to hospitality.

I wouldn't mind but the hospitality area was pretty empty, absolutely no need to extend it

  4. Saturday night in 2010 we swerved the headliners and headed to SE corner early

Came across a queue of about 8 people outside a tent, with two fellers on the door (well not really a door, just a flap that was held closed by the blokes on the door)

every few minutes one of them would stick his head in, then say room for one more and let the next person in.

we decided to have a look seeing the queue wasn't too bad, and probably queued up for about 5 minutes.

when we were finally ushered in, we walked into a completely empty tent, only about 8 foot square, with a flap at the other side that just lead back out into the festival.

everyone who fell for it hung about for a while just to laugh at everyone else as they came through

I've no idea if this was just down to a couple of punters who found the empty tent and had a genius idea, or whether it was actually planned, but it was hilarious.

It’s not really about staying on topic - that kind of strict forums policing doesn’t go on here.  He posts every US festival line up drop to try to prove a point but fails to quite prove the point.

I think the point is to wind you up, and it works as you respond with a snarky comment every single time he posts

Oh its very much cost. Coachella is a shocking lineup for the cost. The headliners as a trio are the worst I could think of to headline any event I went to. I don't attend Wireless in England, it's Wireless with extras as a bigger gig.

I've been going to the festival for long enough to have seen the difference in youngsters appearing but that also coincides with the type of booking Glastonbury are making more now. Glastonbury has got a bit more of a hostile annoying crowd over the years. I first noticed it the year Kasabian headlined. I enjoyed the set a lot but the crowd it brought it I'd not seen many times if at all at Glastonbury before. So obviously nothing proof as in a write up but this year is my 11th year attending since and including 2008.

Booking the likes of Doja Cat, MTS which Glastonbury have will bring a younger crowd, a vast more about of the tiktok crowd, instagrammers, selfie....we're watching MTS hashtags etc etc. I don't ever thing Glastonbury needed that, it survived perfectly fine with out it.

I think you are just getting old to be honest, it's 16 years since your first of course the crowd is going to be getting younger, and so it should, it would be doomed if it wasn't

Word is the next Liam G album isn't solo but a joint album between him and John Squire. Once thats released and toured, I'd say any Oasis gigs are a good few years away.

  8. I had 6 web pages open across different browsers and devices, I noticed the couple of pages that I just left to refresh on their own actually reloaded the page where as the ones that i was doing manually didn't even flicker on refresh

The thing is though people in campervans get the choice to leave early - coach times are random

If I got a 4am coach i'd be quite annoyed as you would basically have to end your night at 2am latest to get your coach + pack up etc. Basically cuts the night short

My friends who had this time packed everything up in the afternoon and left it all at the lockups, then just swung by and picked it up on the way out. Seemed to work out quite well for them

2013 was good. The idea that they weren't is just repeated by the same few people (who weren't even there) over and over again on here until people think it's a fact.

I think the fact they were up against two worldies at the same time doesn't help with the memory of it, I know a couple of people who wished they were elsewhere on reflection

Watched some of his set today and just cannot understand the hype, some of the worst dance music and bad stagecraft.

    He is bobbins.

Ah man, can't believe I was duped into having the time of my life with dancing, tears and hugs.

  12. I think the volume of people that visit now days makes the micro venues and alleyways impossible. Used to be able to stroll round easy enough when they were there, a few years later it got really busy but only till about 3 or 4am, now it just doesn't seem to let up at all. In fact there's a second rush hour about 3 when the rest of the site shuts down.

Busy, but not rammed, easy enough to move around and space to dance in the middle of the crowd.

Actually, looking at the clashfinder I must have been at Skindred, could have sworn that was a lot later than 11.00

Either the Blessed Madonna in Block 9, or Denis Sulta on The Glade or Bryan Gee in The Temple.

I had Denis Sulta pencilled in to see, no idea where I actually ended up, was it busy?

Taking too much. You never need as much stuff as you think you do. Finally learnt it but it took a few festivals when I first started going to realise just how little you actually need to take

  16. No mistakes from me, stand out was the katsu curry I had somewhere left of the park exit, maybe top of pennards. Probably nothing to write home about during the day, but middle of the night I declared it one the best things I've ever eaten
