Wednesday and Thursday were the best days pre 2009

Yeah true, I quite like a Wednesday now but Thursday last year felt too rammed. I shall just take it easy this year and not charge about everywhere I think.

It seems a bit different for me since they brought in the overnight parking on Tuesday. Great for traffic on Wednesday but does seem like majority of people are now there early and more packed Wed/Thursday.

Better than being in work on Wednesday mind so i will not complain too much!

Sorry to say it.... But we need a mud bath this year!!!!

A real 2007 style quagmire, then we can stroll into HMV and grab a ticket like you could in 2008!

100% this - pay up front to be in with a chance in the page access lottery.  After all, we all have a year to save up for it.  Either that or ChatGPT4 gets conscripted to get tickets…

It's not keen at the moment ....

  4. I think it would be useful if the fest put out a tweet saying how many had been sold in the resale. if it was like 2000 or something then people would probably accept that it was down to low numbers.

If it was 20,000 we would all be stressing more about next year I guess!

I think the current main sale way is OK (purely because I have managed to get tickets this way 11 times in a row) but understand how frustrating it would be if you have had no luck.

I think I would prefer a longer one hour battle like this year where you feel you are in with a chance rather than them going in 10 mins.

Or maybe go back to selling them in your local Oxfam or something !

  5. this has probably been covered before but when it says payment email will be sent to lead booker is that just the first person you put in?

Just trying for one friend so would the email be sent to them not me if I get through?

    Cheers,

  6. Just watching the Bad Bunny campfire acoustic with the old man on guitar  segue into him and his mate riding  jetskis slowly round the stage.

Im giving it a go but I have to say I find BB quite perplexing!

They seem to have been getting a bit of a critical reappraisal as of late. Seen a lot of hype and praise for them in the lead up to Coachella which I don’t think there would’ve been a few years ago. Guess it helps that electronic music is very much at the forefront of Coachella more than ever these days.

Looking at the first Coachella line up in 99 and Underworld and Chemicals both on there so guess they have a bit of history with the fest. Cant believe they are in their mid 60s nowadays!

  8. I saw she did a Rammstein cover at a German show. Possibility of a cover of a local South West band?

Maybe a Wurzels/Reef/Portishead mashup or similar?

  9. Always camp up in South Park 2 opposite where the cinema bit is. Fairly quiet area and on the outskirts near the fence but always loads of room when arriving around Wednesday lunchtime.

Don't really send any time at the camp and tend to be coming home via Park /Spider so location works well.

Do fancy trying somewhere different this year so will check out this thread.

Also a huge article on different campsites here.

Out of interest, were they loud? When I saw them at the Glade a few years back (on a Saturday afternoon I think) they were amazingly loud, quite possibly up there with some of my Motorhead experiences.

    They were pretty loud yes!

I remember foregoing Beyonce and QOTSA to them in the Glade as well

Yeah Macca can stick that smug self-aggrandizing stuff, but I actually found his casual little stories about legends of music really entertaining.

Stuff that bugs me: artists who shout things like "are you having a good time?" or "Glasto, how you feeling?". Like, I'm at fucking Glastonbury so yeah, I'm not too bad thanks. Also "PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR!!" Stop telling me what to do!!

Re: the 'go low' stuff needs to get in the sea as well now. Saw some poor sod unable to 'go low' because he had a dodgy hip, so he stood there like a killjoy while everyone around him made him look really obvious. Really felt for him.

Where you stood next to me at Nova Twins or Billie Eilish by any chance! 😁

Felt like I was about to dislocate something while crouching down on the floor!
