It's all about your personal music taste, isn't it? If you like pop, R&B, hip hop and slower music I can imagine the poster is amazing. Usually I've been able to discover a new band I really like every poster, like Future Islands in 2015 and Tame Impala/Wolf Alice in 2016, but nothing so far this year.
At least this poster doesn't have so many names on it compared to previous years, so hoping more hard rock and indie rock bands will be announced later on.

After quickly listening through the unknown names on the poster, I have to say that King Princess isn't half bad.

Really don't get what you (or anyone tbh) means when they say this. Aside from the fact that Elbow would be classified by many as a repetitive and kinda dull booking a by a lot of people, the idea that bookers have just been sat with their feet up and occasionally throwing a dart at a board of names to pick their next booking is pretty ridiculous.
It wouldn't surprise me if Emily gave a strict order of prioritizing female artists this year, which I have no problem with, but considering I mostly listen to male rock bands, with few exceptions (Wolf Alice/Sigrid/Daughter), that quickly leaves the lineup a bit lacklustre in my personal opinion.
But as someone said, one man's trash is another man's treasure, and when I'm sitting on that green grass with my burrito and beer I will still have the time of my life, as I have every Glastonbury

Says more about which acts are active and touring tbh. They can only book what's available. I don't look around at all the other festivals and feel they've really missed on someone. The only one that comes to my mind is LDR, but other than that they've booked the best of what was available to them IMO.
Foals, White Lies, The National, The Strokes, Bon Iver, Elbow, are all touring festivals in Europe this summer and at least three have new albums out this spring. Can't imagine Glastonbury have tried very hard if none of those show up.

My wouldn't mind list is: The Killers, The Cure, George Ezra, Tame Impala, Vampire Weekend, Two Door Cinema Club (ugh), Sigrid, Wu-Tang Clan, Hop Chip, Aurora, Kurt Vile, Inerpol, Sharon Van Etten, Aurora. But I'm lacking that one band that would get me really hyped up, like Foals or The Strokes.
Seems like indie landfill has been switched out with R&B landfill, which is I guess is par for the course considering what music's popular these days. -
That poster needs Stormzy, Tame Impala and Vampire Weekend to release some new and good albums soon.
Foals is sorely missing on that poster, would make the rock/indie aspect of it seem way more relevant and fresh. Hoping for a secret set.

Are they bad or invalid genres?
No, I'm asking hoping to find someone I might like. Just listened to Jorja Smith and Billie Eilish, and it wasn't for me.
Maybe the next Courtney Barnett is on that poster?

Almost 50% female on the poster which is obviously amazing and a direction that’s flies in the face of other festivals
Anyone of them make anything else than R&B or pop?

Happy with Tame Impala, Sigrid and Hot Chip. Time to boot up Spotify and hopefully discover a new band or two.

Don't get Reddit. Should I be looking and why?
Just need to find and subscribe to subreddits you actually care about, like https://www.reddit.com/r/festivals/

8am would be perfect. At that point I'm done with the morning's staff meeting and about to pour myself my second cup of coffee and browse Reddit for an hour.

Two tickets from and to Bristol cost me 65 quid last October. I paid 63 quid for two tickets in january 2017, so no significant increase.

Yeah don’t want to be TOO inclusive do we, anyone wearing red trousers or exhibiting good enunciation must be excluded on the ground they may have more money than us. Inclusive means exactly that, everyone is welcome no matter what their background.
Asking people to respect the ethos of a festival and participate on the same terms as everyone else is excluding someone?
Glastonbury doesn't feel corporate just yet, and I pray it wont fall victim to the Instagram/model culture that plagues Coachella and now, apparently, Burning Man.

Mobile phones are probably counting steps when people are dancing, clapping and jumping up and down.
Your average person couldn't walk 45 km in a day without their legs being completely destroyed for several days after.

The Cure isn't really a jump and flail around kind of band. (Thank god!)
A Forest is always a huge, unbeatable live moment. Collective chills whenever that bass comes up. Personally I love the climax of From The End Of The Deep Green Sea or Disintegration. Immense. These epics are the exact opposite of dull.
Thanks! I enjoy importing setlists from setlist.fm to Spotify. Any particular Cure-list you can recommend?

Lots of people dissing The Cure for not being relevant. A lot of people hoping for Macca, FMac, Led Zep, Queen with Adam Lambert, Madge etc. Any of those still relevant?
The Cure are a great band with a dozen or so absolute bangers. Worthy at Worthy.
Which songs get the crowd most excited at their live shows? I've tried watching a couple of their concerts and it all seems a bit dull except for when they play Boys don't cry and Friday I'm in love.

Excellent news about Tame Impala. Their set at Glastonbury in 2016 was special.
I will make sure to be close to the front. Saw them in Madrid last year from far away, and they made the mistake of messing with the big screens. Instead of just showing the band and including everyone, it was just a poor mix of average effects and psychedelic outlines of Kevin Parker. Why do so many bands make this mistake? Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead at Glastonbury in 13 and 17 come to mind.

Was really hoping for The Strokes, but will probably be there for The Killers - clashes permitting.

Hoping for a disappointing headliner in order to own........the ticket holders.
Disappointing for the people on eFestivals maybe. And considering how much the opinion of people here differ from the rest of the Glastonbury going festival crowd, it might be a good thing.

Awesome, that should mean it's not something ridiculous like Madonna!
Hope you can reveal something soon. I'm not getting any work done and I already had too much on my plate when the day began.

Was interesting hearing Emily talk about fees in her interview with George Ezra. Agents of big American acts often ask "is this a joke" when the Festival presents its offer.
Worst line up in the last 10 years?

I wouldn't get upset. This is a forum where people trash bands like The Strokes and Kasabian, whilst raving about Sheryl Crow and Miley Cyrus. Thankfully the opinion of the average Glastonbury-goer is radically different.
