Vibraphonic Festival 2011


A festival of reggae, soul, urban, jazz, funk, blues, hip hop, drum & bass, electronica and experimental music happening across the city of Exeter.

The Vibraphonic Festival takes place from Wednesday 9th March until Sunday 3rd April 2011. It is an annual occasion with events taking place across Exeter around twenty venues including the Exeter Phoenix, the Cavern, Barnfield, The Hub, The Globe, Timepiece, and Exeter University's Lemon Grove.

A wide variety of artists and DJs are expected and there are also workshops, demonstrations, dance performances, films and graffiti art.

Line-up

Jaguar Skills, Example, Dele Sosimi's Afrobeat Orchestra, The Abyssinians, Submotion Orchestra, Stan Webb's Chicken Shack, Sub Focus, The Devil Has Quentin's Heart, Dizraeli And The Small Godshalsall & Singh, Pigbag, Courtney Pine, Break Da Funk, The Green Man, Exeter University Jazz Orchestra, and Mike Westbrook's Big Band.

Tickets

Ticket prices vary depending upon event and can be bought direct from host venues and from local outlets.

Workshops

There's also a load of great workshops on offer each year, the workshops for 2011 have not yet been announced.

Expo

Vibraphonic will also host an Analogue to Digital music expo.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
