Exeter Summer Festival 2010


A city council sponsored event featuring more than 40 live events at various venues in Exeter, which runs from Friday 25th June to Saturday 10th July. Internationally renowned musicians perform classical, world, jazz and folk music, plus exhibitions, dance, drama, family events, and street theatre. Many events are free.

Line-up

Acts include Martin Carthy, Expresión Cubana, Clare Teal, The Congo Allstars, Ella Edmondson, Django a la Creole, Maceo Parker, James Taylor Quartet, The Glenn Miller Orchestra UK, Rougemont Rocks! - Pitch in Appeal Concert, Jazz meets Jive - Kenny Ball & his Jazz Men, and the Jive Aces, The Animals & Friends with Spencer Davis, Chali 2Na & Breakestra, English Concert, Alexandra Dariescu, Schubert Ensemble, Monteverdi Vespers, Vlad Maistorovici and Daniel Bonuccelli, Celebration Organ Recital, Emma Johnson & The Harpham Quartet, Philharmonia Orchestra, Barbirolli Quartet with Champagne and Strawberries, Choral Concert: The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, Phil Hammond, Arthur Smith at Large, The Knicker Lady, Exeter Comedy Club Festival Special - Part 1, Exeter Comedy Club Festival Special Part 2, and John Hegley: The Adventures of Monsieur Robinet.

Events that are already confirmed for 2010 include historical re-enactments, kinetic sculptures, a promenade opera performance, a family picnic in the park, music and dance on the quay and a finale fireworks. As well as these important free events taking place across the city in Summer Festival 2010, there will be a classical concert programme as well as theatre, music, spoken word and dance programmes in city venues.

Free events include Lammas Fair Parade, Exeter Craft Festival, Living History Weekend, Living History Pageant, Flash Opera Traviata, Festival Finale & Party in the Streets, and City of Exeter Regatta.
