Exeter Autumn Festival is now in its fourth year. Taking place over two weeks, with over 80 events featured, with music, dance, talks and exhibitions across the city. Many acts are performed by regional artists and put on by local promoters.
This year's line-up has now been announced and includes: the James Taylor Quartet; DJ Craze (Rinseout 4th Birthday Bash); Karine Polwart; Jello Biafra; Dreadzone (Beat & Bobz Birthday Bash); and The Men They Couldn't Hang. Click here for further details.
Classical, traditional, and operatic performances include Carmina Burana performed by the Exeter Philharmonic Choir (16th November) and Classics Galore by Exeter Symphony Orchestra (17th November) - both at the Great Hall, Exeter University; a Jukebox Opera at South St Baptist Church (16th & 17th November); the City Steam Jazz Band at the Royal School for the Deaf (17th November); Festival Brass at Southernhay United Reformed Church (10th November); and Sleeping Beauty by the Moscow Ballet at Exeter Corn Exchange (Monday, 19th November).
Expect also childrens theatre (Mr Men & Little Miss on 11th November at the Corn Exchange; and Lost & Found with Theatre Alibi on 16th & 17th November at the Phoenix); local school recitals; cabaret-style interviews (Surreal Saloon at the Phoenix on 17th November); a Proper Devon Ceilidh (Kalendar Hall on 10th November); music showcases; drama; comedy; and film.
The switching on of the city's Christmas lights, takes place in the High St/ bottom of Castle St, on Tuesday 13th November, with pantomine characters and street performers and a grand firework finale.
