Alcester Winter Festival 2011

The Alcester Winter Festival happens in addition to the annual Alcester Folk Festival and will take place from Friday 25th until Sunday 27th February 2011 at The Grieg Centre, Alcester, in Warwickshire. It is a winter version of the well known Singers' festival and will features workshops, folk clubs, singarounds and sessions.

Line-up

Performers at the event, which will run on Friday and Saturday evening and up until 5pm Sunday, so far include Richard Grainger, Colin Pitts, Andy Wall, Les Sullivan, Tony Portlock & Matt Thorpe, Hector Gilchrist & Sue John Morris & Morning After, Copper Kettle, Speake & Lowe, East/West Infusion, Gilly Kemp, Malc Gurnham & Gill Gilsenan, Eric & Eileen Payne, Tom Patterson & Dave Morton, Dave Fry, Graham Collins, Phil Parton & Emmi Bose, Alhambra, Gerry McNeice, GU4, Sharp as Razors, Ann & Terry, Moses & the Ref, Carol Southwell, Lorraine Wooldridge, Dave & Celia, Hilary Ward, The Laners, Noreen Keene, and more artists as yet unconfirmed.

Other events

There will also be folk clubs, singarounds, story telling, and sessions. Plus input from festival goers to make it an all inclusive event. There will be a singing breakfast in the Greig centre.

The event starts at 8pm Friday, up until 5pm Sunday and food will be available all weekend, and there will be a selection of real ales on offer in the bar.
