The Alcester Winter Festival happens in addition to the annual Alcester Folk Festival and will take place from Friday 26thuntil Sunday 28th February 2010 at The Grieg Centre, Alcester, in Warwickshire. It is a winter version of the well known Singers' festival and will features workshops, folk clubs, singarounds and sessions.

Line-up

Performers at the event, which will run on Friday and Saturday evening and up until 5pm Sunday, so far include GU4, Tony Barrett, Will Morgan, Eric and Eileen Payne, Hilary Ward, Pete & Jan Shevlin, Andy Wall, Roister, John Morris, Jon Harvison, Peter and Barbara Snape, Copper Kettle, TNT, Lorraine, Lucy Ward, Speake and Lowe, Phil Parton, Hex, Alhambra, Dave James and Celia, Les Sullivan, Moses and the Ref, Pete Grassby, and more artists as yet unconfirmed.

Other events

There will also be folk clubs, singarounds, story telling, and sessions. Plus input from festival goers to make it an all inclusive event.

The event starts at 8pm Friday, up until 5pm Sunday and food will be available, and there will be a selection of real ales on offer in the bar.
