Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have been revealed as this year's headline act for The Downs Festival, which takes place on Clifton Downs, Bristol on Saturday 1st September 2018.

Joining Noel on the Main Stage will be Paul Weller, locals The Heavy, houston trio Khruangbin, Nadine Shah, and Dream Wife.

Paul Weller had this to say: “It’s gonna be great to play on The Downs, we always have a great crowd in Bristol, see you there!

On the Avon Stage will be Orbital, as well as performances from producer/DJ Goldie & The Heritage Ensemble, Basement Jaxx (DJ set), reggae from Channel One Soundsystem, and locals Laid Blak

Discussion and debate has been a key part of The Downs Bristol since its inception, and 2018 will see the return of The Information Stage, a space where key note speakers address issues affecting UK society. Previous years have featured panels and esteemed spoken word performers  and last year film director Ken Loach. The Information Stage will also feature live music in the evening for the first time, with the line up being revealed very soon.

Conal Dodds, co-founder of co-promoters Crosstown Concerts commented: "2017 was a great year for the festival and our 2018 line-up features some of the best live acts around. We know there’ll be a huge amount of interest in seeing Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller live in Bristol. Noel has never headlined a show in Bristol so we are really excited to bring him and his band to the city  and I think we’ve got the best line up we’ve had so far at The Downs."

Tickets will go on sale on sale at 9am on Friday 2nd March, priced at £49.50. Children (aged 5-12) are priced at £15.
