The Big Chill promoters have told the Hereford Times, (here), that Festival Republic are not considering bringing the event which used to take place at Eastnor Castle Deer Park in Herefordshire back in 2014.

Officially the festival's owners Festival Republic who took over the event in 2009 have not announced the long-term future of the event. However the local newspaper reveals that with next year’s decision already announced, many in the area have given up hope on the event ever making a return.

Founded in 1995 The Big Chill moved to Eastnor in 2002, and was sold to Festival Republic after financial difficulties. Festival Republic first ran their The Big Chill festival in 2010. They then cancelled the event in 2012 when organisers blamed a clash with the London Olympics.

However the event did not return this year, and David Littlewood, the general manager at Eastnor Castle, tells the newspaper he believes Festival Republic has no intention of ever bringing the Big Chill back to Herefordshire.

He says, “We knew the festival was not coming back. The first year the festival was cancelled it did have an impact on business, so we were able to budget accordingly the next time it was cancelled and just put other events on in its place.”
