The Daily Star are reporting (here) that Glastonbury Festival 2011 will play host to a special performance by Beyonce.

The Daily Star are reporting that Glastonbury Festival are in talks to book the American singer as a special guest. The newspaper says, "Michael Eavis is in talks with Beyoncé to play next year's Glastonbury. The festival big cheese is hoping to get the Bootylicious one, 29, to play before Coldplay take a headline slot."

The newspaper says a source has revealed, "After all the furore over Jay-Z playing Glasto last year, it went off brilliantly and he had a wonderful time. Beyoncé was, of course, in the wings soaking up the atmosphere and told everyone how happy she was at Worthy Farm. Getting her to perform in her own right seems the ideal next step."

eFestivals were tipped off that Beyonce would be playing as a non-headliner a couple of months ago, at the same time were told the headliners could well be U2, Radiohead, and Coldplay.

We think it's a good educated guess that the American Michael Eavis said he had been after for sometime to play Glastonbury is in fact Beyonce, and it does now look like U2 are likely to be one of the headline acts.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis dropped the hint of Coldplay's appearance last year when he mentioned that he was "sure" Chris Martin and co would return in 2011. "They've played four or five times already but they'll be back next year, I'm sure," Eavis told BBC 6 Music when they broadcast live from his farm last May, and the Daily Star state they believe that Coldplay will headline after Beyonce.

So, if there's anything to the Beyonce rumour, it's just as likely that the missing two rumoured headliners could well be both Coldplay and Radiohead. It's certainly something we'd be foolish to ignore, although it's not yet something confirmed, but it's a good calculated guess we are making of next year's headlining acts.

Tickets have sold out for next year's Glastonbury Festival which runs for five full days from Wednesday 22nd until Sunday 26th June 2011 across over a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. Expect something like 2,000 performances at 50 or so venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, a fantastic Kidz area, poetry, green crafts and information and loads, loads more ... much more than just the music, so make sure you check it all out! A resale of returned tickets is expected in Spring of 2011.
