The Proclaimers, and Kate Rusby head up the first acts to be announced for Big Session Festival which returns from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th June 2010 and happens at De Montfort Hall, in Leicester.

The headliners for the festival have been announced as The Proclaimers, and Kate Rusby, with Oysterband returning as festival hosts with various performances across the weekend.

Also on the festival bill are Stornoway, Jackie Oates, Chris Wood, Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls, Dervish, Oysterband's very own Ray Cooper Cooper debuting his new album, Holy Bandits, Megson, Whapweasel, and Damien O'Kane. Further acts are due to be announced soon.

An early bird adult ticket is priced at £62.50, a child ticket for those aged 6-15 years are priced at £27.50. Children under 5 years old are free. A family ticket, 2 adults and 2 children is priced at £165. A weekend (2 for 1) disabled patrons ticket is priced at £31.25.

Children under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Proof of age may be required, and is advised to be brought with you. We will accept photocopies of passports for your security. Maximum 2 children to any one adult.

The festival offers live music across three stages and open sessions, with a family friendly nature and staunch green ethos. After being awarded The Greener Festival Award every year since its inception in 2007, organisers along with local company 'The Complete Wasters' will be looking to have another successful year. The fun-filled KidsZone will also be back with crafts, activities and workshops for all of you family festivalgoers and there's on-site camping available.

Big Session also prides itself on the range of quality food and drink and is offering even more choice this year. There will be several quality food outlets open throughout the whole weekend and there will also be a huge range of real ales and ciders from local and regional breweries available to sample during the festival.
