Over the weekend, acts from the roots and folk music worlds will perform their own full length sets. Along with the pre-programmed music, expect there to be a beer tent with open mic space, artist lunchtime and impromptu sessions, a ceilidh, a market place, a children's area and more throughout the weekend.
The Big Session Festival returns on Friday 18th to Sunday 20th June 2010 to De Montfort Hall, in Leicester.
Stage 3 gives local musicians, poets and bands the opportunity to perform at the Big Session.
Children under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Proof of age may be required, and is advised to be brought with you. We will accept photocopies of passports for your security. Maximum 2 children to any one adult.
Children aged 5 and under must be booked through the box office on 0116 233 3111. This is also the number to book for caravans, camper vans and trailer tents. Day tickets are also available priced as follows:
Friday - Adult £30 Child (5 to 15) £10
Saturday - Adult £37.50 Child (5 to 15) £15
Sunday - Adult £22.50 Child (5 to 15) £7.50

Line-up
The headliners for the festival have been announced as The Proclaimers, and Kate Rusby, with Oysterband returning as festival hosts with various performances across the weekend. Also on the festival bill are Cara Dillon, Dreadzone, The Rockingbirds, Chumbawamba, Stornoway, Jackie Oates, Chris Wood, Kerfuffle, Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls, Dervish, Oysterband's very own Ray 'Chopper' Cooper debuting his new album, Holy Bandits, Megson, Whapweasel, and Damien O'Kane. Tickets
Early bird tickets are no longer available. An adult ticket is priced at £75, a child ticket for those aged 5-15 years are priced at £27.50. Children under 5 years old are free. A family ticket, 2 adults and 2 children is priced at £180. A weekend (2 for 1) disabled patrons ticket is priced at £31.25.Children under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Session bar
The festival has a proper session bar which gives festival goers the opportunity to bring along their own instruments and join in the sessions hosted over the weekend. The Big Session provides a safe and secure cloakroom to leave instruments at over the weekend.Amenities
