The Big Session Festival 2005

2005 sees the Oysterband launching their first ever signature festival, set in De Montfort Hall and it's surrounding 4 acre gardens. Over the course of the weekend, an array of special guests from the roots and folk music worlds will perform their own full length sets, peaking with the Oyster's headline appearance on Saturday night.
Artists confirmed so far are Eddi Reader (Friday headliner), Eliza Carthy Band, Show Of Hands and Martin Simpson, Mark Chadwick & Rev Hammer (Levellers) and Justin Sullivan (New Model Army), with further names still to be announced.
The music will range from electric main stage performances to informal acoustic music. The festival will close on Sunday afternoon with a ceildih concert. There are two stages (Indoor and Marquee), free camping, and real ale.
