Evolution announces Dizzee Rascal, The Wombats, Mystery Jets, and more

plus a dance stage feat. Boys Noize, Chase & Status, Kissy Sell Out, & more

The line-up announced today also includes The Maccabees, White Lies, Friendly Fires, Ladyhawke, Little Boots, Florence & The Machine, Nouvelle Vague, Twisted Wheel, Imelda May, and VV Brown.

The festival, in support of WaterAid, and held at at Spiller's Wharf and Baltic Square on the Gateshead quayside on the Bank Holiday weekend, over two days for the first time, Sunday 24th and Monday 25th May, will also play host to The Puppini Sisters, Kid British, The Big Pink, Dead Kids, Esser, Fan Death, Marina And The Diamonds, The Chapman Family, and Viva City.

There will also be a Dance Stage in association with Wax:On with Boys Noize, Chase & Status, Kissy Sell Out, The Count & Sinden, Krafty Kuts, Dynamite MC, Rusko, The Japanese Popstars, Brodinski, Yuksek, James Yuill, Doorly, People Get Real, TC Monckton, and Olip all confirmed to appear.

With the outdoor event having two stages and an unsigned stage, along the quay and indoor gigs around it, the Evolution festival is expected to host a wide spectrum of music, taking the festival goer from jazz to punk, from reggae to folk.
