Gone again now.
As has Beautiful Days
Really? BD gone this early? That's a quick for them isn't it - I used to think there were still places left for non-priority previous years.
-
Added Beautiful Days now as well as I have to do two this year due to running out of Priority years...
Woah - 2 mins for BT - only just made it then.
Worry not about the double deposit holding you back as the email also says they'll sort / refund if there's any overlap after the process.

Signed up for Bearded with Oxfam. Have all the positions gone yet on that one?
-
Been doing it since 2005 though. Sometimes I regret not being a supervisor but then I see how stressed some of them look and think thank f**k I'm not dealing with that
-
Nah. Can't cope with the whole break organising thing

Am 51 now so this is my last run ☹️

Not sure about this year. Need to do 2 to keep the priority up. Bearded as usual if I can (would be 10th year!), but not sure what else.... have done Boomtown, Shambala, Beautiful Days in the past alongside BT. Got txt for G so not in the running.

Has happened for Glastonbury in the one year where too many people had priority, but has never been a thing for other Festivals.
It feels like filling all the smaller festivals up with priority people is a bit mean but I gather they prize experience over turnover at the end of the day.
Bearded and Beautiful Days for me tomorrow. Got to do two to keep priority.

I totally understand your point, but I don't mind the (usually) young ones who say they are bored - its the ones that will quite happily sit there doing nothing and let others run around the place that can be annoying!
Oxfam festivals crew of old told me they try to fill as many positions as possible as every one counts as a fee to the charity at the end of the day regardless of whether they're really needed. As long as it's all agreed with the organisers b4 hand.

Yes, got the email - it confirms mid-morning 25th Jan.
Other that that, it just says that Bearded Theory and 2000 Trees filled in the priority window last year, but they can't predict this years demand.
Nice one stuie / incident.
Surprised about BT as seem to recall at the briefing they did the usual roll call of who had done / not done BT b4 etc and we're loads, tho course they could all have done others with priority previously. Also thought they always kept a proportion back from priority even with a comparatively small numbers festival like BT.

Anyone received a blank 'Priority' applications email from Oxfam indicating next week as opening (but with no date)?
-
Yeah I have to do the M58, M6, M5, M4 run to it. Stay in Bath until midnight Wed. Wouldn't risk the motorways on the day as they are so very unpredictable these days what with one breakdown bringing it to a halt and woe betide an accident which will close them and they'll kick you off to run around the A roads until you find your way back on adding hours to the trip.

How is the Kings Sedgemoor Drain holding up?

AHH god those were the days 😉

Well this is one of those rare situations where the knighthood is deserved. However the concept of knighthood has been sadly debased over recent years.

Happy Christmas!

Happy Holidays!

I don't do queues for anything at Glasto. Too much else going on to compete. Did Rabbit Hole once and was ace but maybe done it's course. Take note Piano Bar...

Moles: Bath nightclub where Oasis and Radiohead cut their teeth to shut
Very sad news. I went there in the 90's a number of times. Hell, even my Mum went there for a gig in the late 70's I think.

I've met and spoken at length to the following at Glastonbury: Thom Yorke in Heaven (venue that used to be in Shangri La) and walked with him to the Guerilla Bar, Don Letts sat down next to me in the Guerilla Bar after he'd finished his DJ set, Bez, again in the Guerilla Bar and Nick Turner (multiple times), I used to know him quite well. Last time I remember seeing Nick was at about 6am in Block 9.
Lesser known/barely even heard of: Mark Robson (Kangaroo Moon) stays in Dragon Field every year (have known him for many years), Seize The Day (Glastonbury band/environmental activists), who also used to friends of mine.
Have listened to Mark and K Moon since 1991 I think and met him a number of times over the years since. Always drop in for one of his gigs each year at G and sometimes even locally (seen him play in Bath loads of times at the Bell). Matt Ledger the drummer back in the 90's once bummed a rollie off me.
Have also hung out drinking over the years with Madness, Sleeper and The Levellers....

Didn't Boardmasters do it once, then did a volte face the following year?
