Does anyone have any indication if Connect will be back next year?

Given the recent APE and Victorious announcements, LCD Soundsystem and Biffy Clyro feel like layup headliners for this. There seem to be a lot of "Connect style" acts touring around the usual time so they could do well here.

All this obviously means it won't happen given how DF have booked Connect so far but it's nice to hope.

Had been thinking the same myself the last few days, there's alot of acts going about at that time that would've suited Connect to a T, LCD, Pixies, Massive Attack returning, Maybe even Biffy/Jamie T etc. could've been decent if better planned.

  2. Wolf Alice are much bigger than Jungle IMO (in the UK anyway...), if their next album gets the same attention as the last they'll be knocking sub/co-headlining for some of the bigger fests and be an easy top line name for day fests like APE

Biffy Clyro put up on their Insta that announcements are coming soon. Could see them at TRNSMT or Summer Sessions.

Just got selling their equipment it seems, they do seem overdue another appearance though

    Kings of Leon

    Queens of the stone age

    FOo fighters

Foo Fighters are playing Hampden in June.

I'd love QOTSA, and it would fit in if a announcement is imminent with their Glasgow show this week but I don't know if DF/TRNSMT sees them as a fit for the festival

    Blur?

It wouldn't surprise me tbf, can see them at TRNSMT or summer sessions Glasgow

  5. Surprised no one has considered Dua Lipa, since she's getting rumoured with Glasto and other euro fest's around the time...

Looking at who's around, I wouldn't be surprised at something like, though maybe too strong arguably?

Fri: Kings of Leon (in UK around the time, probably overdue for it)

    Sat: Dua Lipa

    Sun:  The Killers?

I'm surprised and disappointed that DEVO aren't at this.

Would have been a decent addition, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Green Man festival lineup gets added however, likes of First Aid Kit, Spiritualized, The Walkmen, Amyl and the Sniffers would be decent additions

    Pre-sales sold out seemingly

  7. Was expecting one or two bigger names, but its not too bad tbf, I dont know Fred Again.. stuff but Young Fathers / Roisin Murphy / MUNA / Friendly Fires is pretty strong and has me tempted for Saturday at least. I'd watch the top lines on the other days too.

  8. Going by what's around at summer time, I'll guess it being one of

First Aid Kit, Loyle Carner, Wet Leg (don't think of them as a headliner, but they'd be lightening bottling their recent success...) Christine and the Queens, Two Door Cinema Club, Sigur Ros, Grace Jones

  9. Got a feeling we'll be getting an announcement this week, maybe ahead of payday.

One last ponder, which I'll happily let @Mezhyp1rule out if so, if Boygenius aren't headlining outright is there someone potentially after them... Of which hasn't been mentioned on here yet, and has no other UK shows/fests announced (yet?)

Just noticed @Mezhyp1mentioned about Franz Ferdinand playing a festival in Scotland in August on another forum.

    Don’t suppose it’s here?

I seen elsewhere that they are supporting Pixies in the US on tour, that would be an ideal top 2 for me, still expecting Pixies to pop up on some festivals

Going to go with Ben Howard. Mezhyp1, am I right?

That was another name I was gonna mention

was just going to reply to this with a thumbs down but that could have been interpreted in a couple of ways. no not them

Haha it's cool, assumed Boygenius was correct with the reaction you gave someone else. Anyone else on the Victorious lineup there?

(don't know about the other associated with him, only asked about him specifically)

Know of any other acts playing/far off on some of the above names? - edit, ignore 😅 just seen your other post

I can see Pixies as a headliner here. Biffy seem a bit big for it.

I'd love it tbf, even had the idea of them and Iggy on the same night as an old school kinda night

  13. Been keeping a wee eye on whos playing around the time, would this be feasible?

    Friday

Noel Gallagher / Primal Scream / Future Islands

    Saturday

LCD Soundsystem / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Young Fathers

    Sunday

Foals / one of the below?* / Wet Leg

    -----

Top line acts playing around the time I could see playing if not those above -

*Jamie XX, Bicep, Iggy Pop, Sigur Ros, Pixies, Jamie T

Others around that probably fit Connect -

The Snuts, Inhaler, Villagers, Jessie Ware, Amyl and the Sniffers, Les Savy Fav, Moderat, Los Bitchos

Could see something like this as a Connect day too.

Was just coming to this thread to post the same thing, definitely seems like something that could be booked, that or he is one of the Princess Street gigs

Anyone thinking that Sea Girls could be the TBA on the Saturday?

EDIT: Was thinking possibly Sugababes too, which I'd also be content with. The Proclaimers came to mind too, but everything bar Aberdeen is sold out, so possibly wouldn't need to hold it back?

First names that came to my mind were The Proclaimers and The View, both still got shows coming up, albeit sold out, they could both reasonably fit in on the Fri/Sat tbf. Seem the most likely suspects going through gig listings anyway.

Part of my thinking behind them putting Horan on the Fri is without a big chart friendly name the lineup for that day becomes very 'Radio 2'-like, in that it's more appealing to the slightly older folks (I'd even argue Ezra falls into this category, with his style of 'pop') so they needed something there that will still bring the younger crowds in all 3 days. It wouldn't surprise me if they have a polar opposite to Pulp on the King Tuts stage.
