I assume finding your mates is a nightmare if you got to toilet or for a drink etc? Or is there a knack to that aswell?

Try and work out if they are near a particular flag and head towards that. Or most likely when you can't find them just get a good spot and forget about them until the act finishes

Thanks! Does the coach ticket get emailed to me nearer the time then?

Yeah, the lead booker should receive an email. I can't remember when I received mine over the last couple of years, I think it was around about this time

For us coach lot do they despatch the coach ticket in the same way? In fact, do I even get a coach ticket or is it something I just need to print off?!

If its the ticket and coach package from See then you will be handed your festival ticket on the coach. You will need to print off the coach ticket to hand to the driver and during the journey everyone gets their Glasto tickets :)

This might be helpful to someone, I've gone through the Shangri-La lineup and picked out stuff I think I might be interested in as a non-electronic-music liker:

Adapt, Baghdaddies, Caravan Palace, Carnival Collective, Correspondents, Cut Capers, Fable, Fat 45, Kate Tempest, Lazy Habits, Los de Abajo, New York Brass Band, Reef, Renegade Brass Band, Ruby Throat, Shibusa Shirazu, The Apples, Vibration lab

Bigger list than I was expecting tbh. Hopefully I can go through and listen to a bunch of them before the glade lineup drops

Cheers for this. I'll have to remember to see Correspondents, they are brilliant live

Maybe just grab a few beers and see where our legs take us?

Do exactly that. I find it best not to have regimented things to do for newbies. Just bimble about and be surprised what you stumble across

Ok...so after having a good ponder over the map for something similar to Woodsies, are there are opinions on Pylon or Bushy Ground?

Basically, I don't mind a walk to the action as long as I am likely to get a good night sleep once my head hits the pillow, would like friendly neighbours. Open to recommendations if anyone has any?

I stayed at Pylon the last couple of years and it's fine. Not too packed and pretty quiet. The walk back from the SE corner is about 45 minutes but I didn't really mind that. I'll probably try somewhere else this year but only because I fancy a change.

1997 The Prodigy, I was walking off the Pyramid field towards the market. Some guys had lifted a manhole cover, waiting for someone to fall in. I did. Up to my waist. Horrid. How they laughed.

What a bunch of arseholes. That's not exactly in the Glastonbury spirit!

Apologies if already asked/answered, but when is jackones first forecast due?

I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure his forecasts tend to begin mid May so could be anytime now

The famous Welsh Oggie is there, I will be working for them.  First time I've worked at Glastonbury but missing the festival was simply not an option.  Does anyone have experience of working for a food trader? (I am expecting hard graft!)

Good news, love the Welsh Oggie, especially when they go down to a quid a pop on the Sunday

There's a fish'n'chip stall in Silver Hayes opposite the Wow Stage.  The one time I tried it - many moons ago now - it wasn't great.

I think I tried that stall last year, had to throw most of it away as it was dreadful.

Trouble is I can't trust myself not to be constantly glued to the internet in someway. Checking the news and sport, social media bullshittery, posting on here... Removing the temptation altogether is the best way to deal with it.

Plus only a very select handful of people will have my temporary number, which I like a lot. Impossible for work to reach me = bliss.

I'm with you there. I just take a shitty festival phone so I can arrange when and where to meet up with friends during the festival. Plus, if I do lose it then it's no big loss.

Bearded Theory is one to look up then!  Its awesome - its a bit like the Avalon areas of Glastonbury along with a load of other stuff.  Cheap as chips too!  Only takes 90 mins or so from us too (Im one junction down the M6 from your location!)

I like the sound of that! I'll check it out.

  13. Being able to take your own booze around the site is one of the many brilliant things about Glastonbury. Really can't be arsed with arena festivals and having to sneak booze past security anymore. Apart from Beatherder I really can't think of any others that you can take alcohol anywhere around the site. Are there any others you can think of?

    Thats the spike

This place was awesome last year. Stumbled across it on the Friday I think. Two DJs dressed as housewives turned it from being nicely chilled and having about 5 people there to it being absolutely rammed and everyone dancing within the space of about 20 minutes. Loved it

  15. As long as it's not a biblical downpour you will have the time of your lives. There is nothing like Glastonbury. Make sure you explore and get involved in the madness

  16. What do people think to the chances of getting into any of Darble, Pylon Ground, Rivermead or Bushy Ground (Bush Ground preferred) at around 11am on Thursday?

We normally head down mid/late Wednesday but I need to cover a couple of lectures on Wednesday afternoon so rather than risk all the rush-hour traffic and the risk of potentially arriving in the dark, we've decided to head off from Manchester first thing on Thursday (5.30am). Given the inevitable miles-away parking at that time, we're cautiously reckoning 11am on site.

We want some sleep at 3am so we weren't wanting a stupidly loud site - Bushy has been perfect in the past. But I've always got down there Wednesday so unchartered territory this year!

Any help greatly appreciated to stop pointless meandering with all our stuff. Ta! :-)

You will have no problems at all with Pylon. We arrived at about 8pm on the Thursday last year and there was loads of space left
