If Pilton has had the same rain as Bristol, there's been about 10-60mm each day for the last 2 weeks, with a LOT of heavy stuff in the last 4 days. On Wednesday I reckon we got 40mm in about 30 minutes.
(I live in a dip, and was concerned enough of flash flooding [which hasn't happened yet] to drive my campervan up the hill, just in case ... the drains were still working, but the water was washing over the top of the kerbs)
If that smaller forecast rain for next week happens, it'll probably be enough to mudbath things because the ground is already so wet.
But that smaller forecast rain isn't actually what's likely, that's merely the average over a wide area. What's likely to come if it comes over Pilton are thunderstorms with heavy rain ... and then it's just luck for if one of those hits. I don't think it's likely that luck will hold over 6 days.
The last thing I want is a bad one, but my thoughts are this will be one of the bad years for mud.
40mm in 30 minutes?! Who is God trying to smite?
I'm keeping blind faith. I'm looking at charts and graphs showing weather related things and I have no idea what they mean. I'm checking five different weather sites and trying to take an average. I keep checking the webcam to see if I can see standing water. I've become obsessed. I need help.

Current forecasts have rain every day.
The first bit of rain will (at least) churn it. The second will make it a muddy pool.
We might get lucky because the forecasts are improving, but as the site pics showed last night with floods everywhere the ground doesn't have the capacity to take any more rain, and a couple of days of dryness makes not a lot of difference when the soil is like it is.
Only a couple of mm in the next week. No way near the 40mm that's fell in the last week.

This. I usually break a gram into 8 or 10. Take one, wait 30/45 mins, then another.... You can't untake it, but you can top up. Though as I've got older, my mates aren't in the scene anymore so I can't get it anymore, and I'm never that keen to buy from a random up at the stone circle
Exactly my tactic. Split it into ten. See how you go after one bomb. I had half a green rolls Royce last year. It was the first time I'd taken pills in about five years and five years a go they used to be terrible quality. The half hit me like a tonne of bricks. Totally got caught out by how strong they are nowadays.

Williams Green on a Thursday evening is pretty busy.
Williams Green last year was stupid. My mate nearly had his arm broken after Drenge had just finished. Everyone was trying to get out and he ended up one side of the tent support pole and his arm the other. Never seen so much fear on a blokes face.

To call them a waste of a slot is a bit harsh. Considering they were on the other stage early afternoon and it was absolutely tipping it down the crowd was immense.

Not sure how to embed YouTube videos on my phone but Nirvanas cover of The Man Who Sold The World is well up there!

We hire a self drive 13 seater. It's a bit of a squeeze for 11 of us and all our gear on the way down. On the way home there's bags of room though as I'd say a good 50% of the weight on the way down is booze.

Where do the fireworks happen? Is it near strummerville?
Sacred space. It was ridiculously packed last year and we struggled getting out once they'd finished. Probably going to give it a miss this year.

Happy days! Let us know when you post the order thread and I'll stick my name down for two.

who's to say that it isn't all of this years headliners that have already played before and only one of next years has?
Absolutely nothing. I'm just seriously blinkered as I hope it's The Roses.
-
Whatever happened to the headliners all being "British Bands"? And four out of the next six headliners having already headlined before. So Muse and Coldplay are British bands who've already played. Leaving The Stone Roses to play this year seems as Radiohead have already headlined.
Well that's my shitty logic and I'm sticking to it.

Acoustic for me. I like a lot of what they put on, plus draught Guinness next door.
Where is this draught Guinness you speak of?

We take a gazebo. It goes over our little communal area (there are over 20 odd of us) and overlaps a load of the tents. Just big enough for everyone to squeeze around. Last year when it hammered it down on the Friday we had a load of strangers come sit under with us to take cover which was nice. There were a few with gazebos around where we were camped at Park Home right next to Dairy too.

3-0 Radiohead. I want to party not just stand there.
-
Apologies if I'm late to this party, you've managed to lure me out of 6 years of lurking. Can I get my name down for a couple to pick up on the Wednesday?
-
You might wanna fix the end question.

Way to waste money.

It is. I missed out for the first time last year in the original sale but thankfully my mate had a spare. Last year all the Weston Park tickets were gone by 10:30.

Temper Trap were brilliant in 2010.

This is brilliant mate. I'd be pretty unhappy if you were right and Olly Murs is above Madness on the main stage!

It's cliche but I didn't like them at all until my legs stopped working and I couldn't physically walk anymore on the Sunday. So I just stood infront of the pyramid and had my mind blown by the entire show.
