  1. So who saw the Specials? Were they any good?

I really wanted to see them and spent 40 mins near the front before they came on, but had to leave unexpectedly due to an unfortunate incident about one minute into their first song. Gutted to miss them, but it had to be done.

I've not seen them listed in many people's top acts of the festival, so if you could all tell me they were crap, it'd make me feel a lot better!

  2. We left Manchester at 5am on Wednesday morning, after 200 miles and 4 hours driving we reached the exit slip of the M5 junction at around 10am (we had to avoid a crash on the M6 which didn't help). The last 20 miles from the M5 junction took a further 7 hours! We parked up and turned off the engine at 4:45pm in West 27. Almost 12 hours in total.

I think we'll leave at midnight next year!!!

    What about everyone else?

  3. Well basically me n my mate were right at the front for the prodigy.. then we got split up because of the massive mosh pit.. blah blah blah, then at the end of it, this girl comes up to me saying your friend has taken a blow to the head, then i was like, who the hell are you? i thought she was gonna kidnap me at the time lol,, anyway

then i followed her and saw my mate on the ground knocked out.. so i stayed with him for a bit, then he woke up like 2 mins later, i was really panicing at the time, cos i had to go backstage where all the doctors were, and they were asking all the Questions like, have you taken any drugs.. but atleast i got to meet the lead singer of glasvegas!! :)

anyway, we had to get my dad to pick me up who wasnt even at the festival..

so not a good end to it.. but still AMAZING performance by the prodigy..

  4. We joined Sprinsteen half way through his set and I was also sceptical. But I thought he was fantastic. He (and his band) never stopped at all, I have also been converted.

That said, I did hear of other people who'd watched him from the start and left halfway through as he was too "dull and preachy". Maybe we were lucky to catch the second half? The end of his set was awesome however

  5. Couldn't resist one last look at the weather websites! Now I'm off for a bacon sandwich before setting off. Get the frying pan on Tenner Huey. Brown sauce with mine please!!

  6. If they just booked on who the majority wanted then the headliners would be Kings of Leon, The Killers, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead or Oasis every year. Sometimes the best things to watch are the acts we wouldn't have thought of, or usually wouldn't have listened to.

That's what makes Glastonbury great, its different, and it takes risks.

  7. I am pretty sure it's all urban myths, created by people who want an excuse to keep their wristbands on, so everybody knows they've been to a festival.

If you think about it, what benefit is there to give away drinks to people with old wristbands on? Absolutely none, so it'll never happen

  8. it sounds to me like she'll probably still be pissed off at you and will start noticing all those little things she hated about you but chose to ignore, she will resent you more and more over the festival and will then decide that she cant continue with the relationship anymore. anyway have a fun time!
  9. I was walking up the railway path two years ago when they came along out on manouvres, playing drums and tiny little bells. It sounded so beautiul I was almost tempted to run off with them and start a new life. But I just went to LV instead. And got shitfaced. On Stella.
  10. the food, last year anyway, was 'tarka dahl' - like curried lentils with a lush garlic / chili topping. genuinely amazing food. you get a big helping and a poppadom too. i've tried cooking it at home but nothing's come close!
  11. It hadn't even occurred to me to work out hours and it just sounds so great.

Your work time sounds way better than mine! Unfortunatly I also have about 30 hours work to do in that 16 hours, whilst struggling to focus on anything other than Glastonbury!

  12. HEre now, it's wicked. Not seen any mud yet, and seem to be able to get online too! Bit cloudy at the mo, but warm and dry, which is what matters innit!
