  1. Hello Shambala folks,

this is our first year at the festival. I have my partner and 3 kids on tow and am just wondering how far the parking is from the camping? I'm on the medical crew so am wondering if it's closer still. Went to Glastonbury this year and lugging all the stuff nearly killed me! SO lugging even more stuff is filling me with dread, lol.

    Also...Sham-bah-lah or shamba-lar?

  2. Nice one. Thanks Kerplunk. Couple more questions if thats ok ..

What are the queues like to get in on the Thursday?

What time to most peeps arrive?

Is there much going on on the Thursday?

  3. Latest on line -up

"The program is now fully confirmed but, as you know, we keep most of it under wraps until you arrive, but here are a few little secrets we just had to share. The brilliant Ghostpoet, who has just been nominated for a Mercury Music Prize for Best Album will be wooing you on the Chai Wallah's stage. His inspiring vocal dexterity riding bass heavy beats has won over Gilles Peterson among many others."

  4. Hey guys!

Just checked the FB page, seems a bit poor to be honest.

Anyway, it's my first time this year, going it alone!

Really looking forward to it, but could someone tell me if Shambala have rules on alcohol and such? Can't seem to find it on the site...

Cheers and see you all soon! :)

  5. I've just started making my fancydress costume. If the weather's ok tomorrow we're going to the local car boot sale so I can look for a kichen clock cos I going as a Grandfather clock. Anyone else know what they're going as yet?

By the way Sarahnatbenamy I see you won the photo competition, well done :)

  6. Well done xrayspecs, your right the facebook disscusions boards just not being used properly, dont actualy think that anybody realy know that they are there, and there was so many of us chatting away before and well after the festival, then they just cut us dead, dont think they realised the power of the website forum, not to mention on facebook we all use our real names so know one reconises each other from our avatar names on the forum !

  7. Only time I've been robbed there was during the rain of 97 - makes it easier to pick on people that have crawled into tents and dumped wet clothes in the outer part of their tents.

MAKE SURE YOU REPORT IT!!! I did and got my wallet back, which had photos and cards intact - I only lost my cash. You should really have left your cash and passport in the lock-ups, but I guess you don't need to hear that.

And blame the thieving bastards - don't blame the festival. The thieves are a miniscule minority, and you've just been very, very unlucky.

  8. Right Shambala people this is a call for action. You probably know that last time Shambala got a new website they dropped their forum and started using Facebook, which meant a community of people disappeared. Facebook is rubbish by comparion and hardly anyone uses the shambala discussion boards, however the folks at Shambala have agreed to look into bringing back their own forum if enough people ask, SO PLEASE ASK.

Here's were you can add your voice and request the old forum is brought back.

    People power!!

  9. Hi,

I'm thinking about ordering tickets for me, my girlfriend, and 2 and a half year old little girl.

Can you tell me how many people go to the festival?

Also, we're not going to be able to get there until Thursday night. Will there still be space in the family camping field at that time, or does the space fill up quite quickly?

I've only really been to Glastonbury before, and the camping space fills up VERY quickly there. Is it the same here?

Finally, if you've been before, where is it normally held? and when do you find out the actual location?

If you can answer any of the questions above it'll be a great help.

    Thanks

    Mark

  10. We've got our tickets :) HELLO, HELLO, HELLO (and HELLO) :P I was only looking on here yesterday but couldn't find the thread. Checked again today and who do I see but you. How are you? Hope you're all okay and coming this year. If you are we'll have to meet up for a drink. I really miss the Shhh forum. They've started using Facebook but it's not the same. Please say you're coming.

  11. An enjoyable enough weekend. Not band focused, unlike others such as Beautiful Days. Good flat site. Plenty of Tarquin's & Tabitha's about. The circle layout helps to stop boredom. Amazing bass in the Kamzkaike tent. Beer - £3.50 a pint. Toilets, cleaned daily - turdis type. Low level security. Lovely woods and gardens. Would i go again - no, not for me again.
