I got the impression it was much more an "anyone but Cowboys" vibe than it being specifically a jag fanbase.

I might have a little bit of sympathy with woy if it wasn't for the fact that the NFL is outselling the England national team at the moment

Is that the first time they've held a divisional game at Wembley?
Another ramping up in London's role by the NFL. You have to hand to the NFL, they are playing the long game very well

anyway .. back to the OP question.
Why not december? Weather here is never *that* bad and London at Christmas is a nice place to be - except Oxford Street, which is the manifestation of hell on earth.

If you are willing to share with others you'll probably get something for £600-£700 a month round there (if you dont mind living in a bit of shithole of a house)
Living close to your friends is vital I'd say.
Repeat that sentiment - If you have a social group within a few tube stops (or train stops if you're one of those SE london lot) of one another then it makes all the difference to your enjoyment of a place. The fact that I'm within 20 minutes journey of a large number of mates makes all the difference to London feeling like a home and not an impersonal monstrosity.

The price off accommodation in London staggers me. Car parking spaces are another mind bending element - wasn't there a car park space that went for £0.5M a few days ago? I don't know how people survive there, as you can't all be rich. I'm not knocking the place, it's just that I'd rather live elsewhere and have more disposable income than know that I could go out around the clock in London - if only I could afford to.
It is ridiculous and it is a real struggle for a huge number of londoners. I wouldn't live here anymore if it wasn't for the fact my job is in central london. I do love London, the haters can hate but there really is no other city like it, but I've reached a point where if I had the option I would probably move to a completely different part of the UK.
It's an issue that comes with such a capitalcentric country like the UK. So many industries and sectors are only found or predominantly found in London. I imagine it will be an issue for HGavin too. Apart from the BBC's recent move up north, almost all television production is centred in London. If he wants to do his job then he has to be in London, and has to pay the high rents, and the rents are high because he has to be here.

Congrats Katster! Fantastic news.
We've just gone over the 36 week mark. Antenatal classes done. Moved into our new home last week and mum started maternity leave yesterday. Getting very close now! Can't wait to meet my daughter

How about dem Cowboys!?! Rather smugly picked that result in my picks league too
They're running the ball like a team possessed right not, Murray is in MVP form. Who would have thought the two best records in the NFL at week 6 would both be in the NFC East.
Also going to the 'boys jags game at Wembley. Although I'm going to be cheering for the cowboys I don't want a blowout. Saying that - a decent rule for Cowboys games over the last 4 or 5 years is if on paper they should win it they'll probably lose it, and if on paper they should lose it then they'll go win it

Just throw this little nugget out there
Bono says tax laws bring ireland prosperity and capitalism brings people out of poverty.

Three possibilities
1. You don't know your north from your south
2. What you thought was the north end of your compass was actually the south end
3. Your compass is crap
the north end of the compass always lines up in the direction of the South to North field lines. The laws of physics didn't just reverse themselves specially for you

Im just surprised Romo and Garrett have lasted as long as they have. Jerry Jones comes across as the type of owner who has little patience. Maybe my perception of him is way off
If Cowboys have a losing record by week 8 I think Garrett could be for the chop.
Romo is a running joke. He actually throws up very good stats, but never gets the job done when its needed. Would also think this has to be Romo's last go at getting to the playoffs. But then people have been thinking that for a little while.

Have last nights game on record. Haven't watched it yet and don't know the score, so will look forward to that later this afternoon.
To purely gloat - I'm going to visit the University of Alabama in a couple of weeks and I've managed to time things very well. Just bought my tickets for Alabama vs Florida at the Bryant-Denny stadium. Pretty bloody excited

Yeah, they really were excellent. They were on great form. They all seemed in really high spirits and looked like they were just having a lot of fun. Makes a big difference.

Love it!

Police usually pretty powerless in these situations. Contact your council noise team, they will usually send out a frightener letter to the noisy neighbours warning them that complaints have been made, investigations have begun and a maximum fine of £10000 could be imposed. That could be enough to put the frighteners up em and help sort things out. If not then the council will explain how to take things forward. It's a long process though.
I've had noisy neighbours before. You have my sympathy.

Haha. Ooops. Wrong news thread!
Everything fine over here though. 10 weeks to go

Know i don't post here much anymore but just wanted to share the news that my daughter Zoe Isabella was born last Friday, weighing 8lb5oz. She's perfect and doing great. After a 53hrs labour Mum has had some complications with acute mamitis and we're all in hospital (I've been using a wooden chair as my bed the last 3 nights), but hopefully discharged tomorrow and heading back home, this time for good.
It's been an intense but incredible 10 days since contractions started. Child birth really is something else.
