  1. I wonder if Yo La Tengo might be among the announcements...or King Creosote returning?

I wouldn't rule out James simply because they're playing DMH later in the year. Would struggle to be as good as they were at DMH in 1985 though.

The Bunnymen don't seem to be busy in August.

  2. Hi. We are chuffed to report that we have smashed our previous best Early Bird sale by a few hundred weekend sales. Previous best years for Early Bird sales being 2006 and 2009, both sell-out years for the festival.

Further announcements to be made later this month include: Efestivals Comedy Tent line up, Friday mainstage and indoor-stage headliners and the rest of the bill (including 10 regional acts as chosen by our panel) Expect this around 21st April.

On 27th April we will publish the full day-by-day, stage-by-stage listings.

29th April we are off to our twinned festival Bergenfest with the lucky winners of the recent competition.

Thanks for your continuing interest in Summer Sundae. Bring on the Summer!

  3. A few more that look good bets:

    - Spaceships are Cool

    - SugarSnatch (?)

    - Autohype to play the main stage on Saturday

    - Ragtime Jug Orchestra on Friday

Mumford & Sons are looking like potential Sunday headliners

  4. That would blow my socks off, I was just overjoyed to hear that some decent brassy Ska was going to be there, then I found out that it's the specials brass section, then there was the possibility of some 'friends' being with them - I've now got my wife telling me to calm down and not get my hopes up!!! :P
  5. If I was being slightly cynical I might suggest that the headliners will be whoever turns out to be the 'biggest' acts booked on each day, and that this may well end up being Titchy Stinker, M&S and the Go! Team.

Not fussed about who's headlining myself - if I get a ticket it will be for the overall line-up.

I would say that Peggy Sue may well be on the bill if their MySpace saying that they are is anything to go by:

Others that the crystall ball are suggesting are Diesel Park West or maybe just John Butler with some friends for the Sunday.

  6. There rarely are rumours of that sort, but what I do want to throw in for the usual lively debate *cough* is there's an advert in the new Uncut which has Tinchy, Go! Team and Mumfords on the top line. Rob said that at least one (not all) of the headliners has already been announced. Go! Team I can get behind to some extent if they get their new album out by then, M&S, well, they've sold nearly 400,000 albums already and it's only going to keep going through the festival season but they're still on their first album (so were Simian Mobile Disco, mind you) Tinchy's been a huge singles success, but has he really had that much nationwide attention outside the teen urban set and can he really fulfil a 60-90 minute non-specialist festival headline slot?

Musician Stage announcement tomorrow, the Twitter's just said.

  7. Looking at a few other festival line-ups, these are playing elsewhere this year and would be very welcome at SSW:

    Pixies

    Pavement

    The xx

    Shellac

    Wire

    Mission of Burma

Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions

    Polvo

    Bill Callahan

    Twinkle Brothers

If we could avoid the bands that are on at the V festival that would also be great.
