  1. If you have a natural space that you can place gazebo feet among tents I have no problem with them, personally. Largely, however, they seem to be taped up, with 2-3 chairs under them during the day and taking up the footprint of 2-3 small tents, at that point it is antisocial.

I'm pretty sure we are ALL guilty of a little bit of landgrab action, in our own little ways. I have 2 3 man tents, 1 for me, 1 for the kids. Am I being selfish by using more tent space than I really need? If not, is the single bloke in a 4 man tent? Where do we draw the line on what is or isn't acceptable practice?

ME has it right, don't make any rules, don't tell people what to do and while some will be w*nkers and some will be saints, most will just work it out right.

  2. Good, if bitter, article. Especially liked the bit about Gazebo Goons, what sort of tosser takes a gazebo to Glasto anyway? They really piss me off as well, acting like Mr Eavis won't mind them putting one up cos the're "special" f**king w*nkers . Rant over and out

  3. Normally take a couple of pillowslips rather than a pillow. One I fill with clothes to use as a pillow, the other I use for dirty washing, better than a bin bag cos it won't rustle. Also I usually get a pack of cheap disposable torches from 99p shops. No weight and just use a new one when it runs out. Don't bother with blow up mattresses, just drink more. Only ever taken wellies to one festival and it pissed down with rain, so don't take them either. Plenty of fags and baccy plus a tin of cigars in case I run out.

Milk on site is also good for using as a mixer with any spirits. Alway have a few empty plastic bottles to fill with water as the bottled water on site is so expensive.

  4. Please help because we don't know what to do. We booked our tickets and have just been told by school that my Year 10 son has a Science gcse module on the Friday afternoon!!!! The module itself only lasts 40 mins and does not start till 2.00pm  School will not allow holidays during term time let alone when he has a GCSE science module if we phone in saying he is sick will we have to provide medical evidence ie Doctors note??? Travelling down after the exam would take forever as we live in the North West. He does have the opportunity to resit it again in November. I am so annoyed cos this is the first time we have ever taken him out of school, he is never absent and GCSE exams have always been sat in Year 11 so we never thought this would happen. Half of me thinks he could sit it in November and this is a fab life experience that as a family is a one of shot for us. Then the other half of me thinks he should be in school  Your thoughts would be really appreciated.

  5. Thought I paid for my ticket online last week, triple checked my bank details before paying and got a confirmation email to say I had three tickets. I had an email saying it had not gone through yesterday but it was only by chance I checked that email because its one I dont use that often. If I had left it another day it would have been lost in junkmail, and there would have been much wailing and gnashing of teeth come June.

All sorted now but just for letting others in the world know worth checking money left bank account, emails etc. B)

  6. apart from when he's making music

i remember walking away from the stage when Pulp were headlining, and my daughter (who was 5 or 6 at the time) asked who was on... I said "Pulp", and she said "we don't like Pulp, do we dad"... some people who were walking near started laughing

one of my 'proudest' moments... :D

  7. Bugger, just paid for Glasto tickets today as well.

I'd resigned myself to the corporate stadium that is U2, planned to avoid Coldplay altogether especially as might have to endure Mrs Martin singing and convinced myself I'd enjoy the poptastic Ms Knowles. Elbow and Mumford and Sons are pleasant enough but now Kai$haaaaaaaaaargh

There is BB King and Jimmy Cliff I suppose but was genuinely excited about seeing Pulp :(

feels like its turning into T4 does O2 f**kery

  8. This year we are providing a dedicated camp site for those who cycle to the festival. If you live within 20 miles we will collect your luggage and deliver it to site and return it afterwards. There will also be an organised ride from bristol and if you are futher than 20 miles away you are still able to join in by having a friend bring your luggage or bring it yourself. There will be other benefits such as solar showers for riders. avoid the queues coming in and going out. Check out the how to get there link on official website. There is also a group called glasto bike rides on facebook to help organise rides and riders. You bike will be accessable every day to ride off site for supplies or to visit the local area. Hope you enjoy this facility.

  9. Fave Chems tunes? Jeez where to start. Admitedly I prefer their older instrumental stuff. The guest vocals thang never grabbed me all that much to be honest.

    In no particular order:

    The Test

    Loops of Fury

    Big Jump

    Chemical Beats

    Galvanize

    BRB

    Hold Tight London

    Morning Lemon

    PPR

    Out of Control

    Horse Power

    F*ck Up Beats

    Escape Velocity

  10. Hmmm so I can post on here about not going and not be censored but I get my post, which I would like to say was importantly as irrelevant locked.

    Sexist, racist, ageist Fascist Admin!

I shall be departing to the Reading forum where I shall inform them of my intention not to go there. B)

  11. After reading Spudzzz post it has inspired me to thing about things I am not going to this year. Obviously this is the correct forum to be letting you know about this.

    1. I have decided not to go to the moon. It's too rock based for me, no atmosphere and I don't like the line up.

    clangers-415x275.jpg

Poor Clangers will be so disappointed, waiting expectantly for Peachy's arrival

2.I have decided not to go to the Marianna trench in a small submarine, instead I will be visiting Swanage bay once or twice, armed with a snorkel and mask.

3.I will not be participating the 2012 Olympics in any sporting capacity whatsoever, may seem harsh but my minds made up.

    4. I will not be going to a "Turkey and Tinsel" weekend in Margate.

I do, however, intend to loiter around the Turkey and Tinsel boards and inform them of my decision nearer the time, as well as disparaging the organisers choice of having Andre and his Organ playing with Vera on Maracas.

Has anyone else decided not to do things that have no bearing on anything?

  12. According to their website this morning:

"But, to conclude on a note of to-the-moooooon merriment, BSP have been confirmed for the 2009 Glastonbury Festival. More information on this concert performance soon."

Last year they played John Peel and Leftfield so I wonder what this year will bring?
