  1. I loved it, fantastic stuff.

Axl voice went as the gig went on, though Slash made up for this.

I was stood down the front on left hand side near Water Aid tent and was similar size to Metallica and Kendrick Lamar

    B2B with Blessed Madonna apparently.

    With Fred Again..

I did post a while ago on TBA thread as it was obvious.

I'm too old to go, though my daughter got into the Temple

  3. Probably quieter than the start of Arctic Monkeys, though will it be busier by the end as Arctics lost a lot of people throughout the set with different expectations of what was going to be played.

Sorry this did not work out for you. I was 50/50 and chose YF and loved it, though my daughter enjoyed Fred Again

Not quite true, I wasn't dancing, I stayed sat  down on the chair of my powered wheels. I'd have struggled to stand up and definitely couldn't dance .

Apologies i meant the crowd down from the platform, and I was probably next to you,  though did you want to dance?

  6. First time I've seen them live and loved it. Was a wonderful performance.

I was on th viewing platform watching down and every single person in front of me in the crowd wanted to be there and was dancing.

Some festivals now have 'live update' sections on a map app that tells you green/amber/red in terms of how busy camping areas are, and other bits of the site. Glastonbury is obviously far too budget and stuck in its ways to implement something like this but it would be really amazing and save a lot of hassle if there was a crowdsourced version people could plug into over Tues-Fri.

I get they need to fund the festival by selling more hospitality, however general camp sites has reduced over the past few years, and if you are someone coming in via gate A you had no chance this year. I can't make it on Wednesday due to child care, however I have paid for camping so should be given the chance of getting my tent in on Thursday.

Anyway enough of me moaning, roll on the Hives in 90 mins.

If you’ve got a sensible 2 man tent, you’ll squeeze in. The local stewards will direct you. I’m in Hawkwell and, while it’s kinda sardine-y there’s a 2 man tent sized space next to us that we’re using to sit in. We expected to come ‘home’ last night to find someone in it.

That is part of the issue, we arrived around 2.30-3 yesterday, we asked lots of stewards around the entrance where had availability and no one knew. If they had said XX XX camping sites are full then we could have taken our stuff to the relevant site. Loads of people just pushing trolleys around on Thursday with no availability unless you had kids, access or hospitality. Tbf the camping site managers around Wicket ground, Lime Kiln were helpful and radioed around to try and help.

There should be signs when you enter the gates telling you where there is availability.

  9. Also a sh*t show for access people not getting the bus having to walk all the way around over a tiny f**king bridge to get back to pedestrian gate A from the yellow car park. Then having to walk around the John Peel tent as it full of hospitality this year.

Anyway rant over, I'm getting pissed and having a good time now and will deal with Glastonbury management next week.

  10. Absolutely sh*t show so far. I've come on Thursday since 2010 with no issues. We arrived at 3pm. No space on Darble, Lime Kiln, wicket ground is now fully family camping. Loads more hospitality areas, and access camping too. We ended up having to plead with the access camping if we could actually camp on here as my wife has access wristbands. My friends ended up on a path way. The general camping areas are down to nothing unless you arrive on Wednesday.

This will be Glastonbury number 7 for me after I managed to bag a couple of coach tickets for me and my other half in resale for Thursday 2pm departure from London.

I wouldn't dare to complain, I am obviously over the moon, but the timing will be tricky as I am not going with any group this year so will be faced with finding a spot to pitch the tent around 7-8pm on Thursday. I would normally arrive before gates open and head straight for Oxlyers but since that's not an option I wonder if anyone on here could tell me which of the further out campsites are still not full up around that time?

Bit annoying about the Pylon ground as that takes a massive space out of equation for Gate A arrivals and I am sure I will have to trek much further to find a spot. Of course I'm planning to consult the stewards as I arrive and follow the advice but it would give me some peace of mind if I had an idea of what's realistic at that time?

Is Hitching Hill a popular choice these days? It used to be very quiet when my friends camped there back in 2015 but I have a feeling it might have changed. I'm guessing no chance for Bushy or Dairy so preparing myself for a long long trek to Back House/Baileys but I'd love to hear some first hand experiences from people who camped there in the past. How busy by late Thursday evening? Really hoping to have the tent up before sun sets!

Oh, I have a Vango Apollo 500 so looking for roughly 3x4m free space.

Thanks in advance for any responses x

We arrived at 5pm last year on Thursday and got three spaces on Hitchin Hill. Only downside if you could hear the coach announcements via the tannoy on Monday 0.00 to 5am at which time we we gave up got up and walked back to the car!

Anyone aware of any djs playing a bit of the heavy stuff anywhere?

I'm not sure of any metal played on the site, however there was a indie and rock bar (Taphouse bar) near Leftfield/ phone charging place that was new for last year.

I was going anyway but that absolutely cements it!

I was 100% seeing Murder Capital until I saw this. Pretty much forces my hand in that this is a one-off chance of seeing this happen.

The 2 dots on the poster could be a hint

Hmmm which artist playing at the festival always uses two dots..

This is going to be massive. I'm even contemplating leaving Guns n Roses early for the 0.00 slot

What about a Fred again... Four tet and Skrillex secret set? I'd miss the Fred again... set and watch Young Fathers if that was the case.

Saturday night 0.00 at the Temple?....

  16. As stated above, freezing drinks, especially the ones towards the bottom helps, as does ice. In addition, i find a decent cooler box (i use Coleman's Xtreme) with some preparation of the box by putting cold frozen bottles of water in for 5 days prior to the festival works well for me. Usually have ice cold drinks on the final day.

  17. Axl seemed to turn the corner on this when he toured as front man with AC/DC and was on time.

If they are late, it will because of technical issues rather than choice
