I’d take limp bizkit & the offspring wouldn’t mind a bit of of above & beyond to remind me of the old gatecrasher days
-
Does that mean the prodigy are exclusive also

Plans could have change hence the reason for her pushing the legend as the forth headliner and a women so she can claim that she was right. let’s say it was Cher for the legend and Dua as a headliner she can still say I was right in saying there would be 2 female headline acts
-
This is true but she also did a podcast and went at lengths to emphasise the legend being the 4th headliner and confirmed this to be female. also any news from your liam contact?
-
Coldplay are such an uninspiring booking
-
😂😂Isn’t that the exact argument those who claim someone to be current enough but what about the young en’s 😂
-
Yeah where will the thought be for everyone else when Dave’s headlining like most on here would like to happen people will just turn up as they are headliner and they would for someone like pink or that someone of that size and ilk I’m sure most 50 year old & below will have heard & know at pink songs. i’d Hazard a guess most people over 30 wouldn’t have a clue any of his songs
-
A quick google apparently the average age of the glastonbury crowd is 38/39 I think that’s the demographic that would have grown up on her stuff.
-
I can’t work this forum out. I’m seeing comments saying pink isn’t big enough but then she’s clearly bigger & has more longevity than a billie eilish then the goal posts have to move so she’s not current enough but the same people are all over Madonna who isn’t current at all. fact is while pink may not be current she is still a big act that has been going since the 90’s sold plenty of albums sells out stadium tours she isn’t my thing but too many on here sound like hipsters and anyone not deemed cool in their eyes is shot down

If billie eilish was big enough to headline pink is

Glastonbury -Can you do Fri-sunday or do you have to go for all of it?

The problem with that is guaranteeing that everyone is the position to do it again you can’t and I don’t want them thinking maybe next year and then next year never happens for the sake of 24hours -

Just posting here to see if some of you can help me explain it better words than I have been able to. I’m trying to convince my mate & his mrs that attending for 3 days Friday/Sunday isn’t the end of the world. 3 couples have already been previous but the 4th this would their first time but they can leave on the Thursday due to work so would have to arrive Friday morning. But because they can’t they are leaning toward saying no, as they want to do it properly & think they’ll miss out. I’ve tried to explain that it’ll leave you wanting more to come back again & that no one sees everything the first time but I don’t think I’m explaining well enough. Finding a camping spot won’t be an issue it’s the missing out how do I explain that they’ll still have a brilliant time even if they are late. obviously this is all dependant on if we are successful in getting tickets -
Everyone getting a bit carried away she didn’t say it was still 2 female headliners during this podcast, but did make a point of saying the legend is classed as the 4th headliner and confirmed that to be female. She also made a point of saying she tries to book 50/50. that could very easily mean the legend and a another are the 2 female headliners & then 2 other headliner slots are male based band or solo. The big American act could easily have been greenday. The point she says we’ll understand why points to the earlier point of her aiming for 50/50 booking

The Tiny crowd for Kendrick is one in the eye for those wanting the likes of Dave etc to headline they may be down with the kids but they don’t have the widespread mainstream appeal to appeal the masses. If rappers are going to do it & I aren’t against rappers I like rap they have to be the size of jay z kayne and Eminem pull those big crowds and be certified headliners

One of the Ireland dates in June is an out door venue. My missus would love her to play glastonbury again this year. what do you think the chances are
-
Sounds to me it’s a don’t bother waiting to see if I play glasto buy my tickets on Friday and then I’ll turn up there as well.
-
Unless he books dates over the weekend of the festival I’d not rule him out showing up
-
In your opinion i’m sure the thousands that went to knebworth to see him over 2 nights would love it
-
Would love Liam to do it over Coldplay
-
Didn’t courteeners do their first album last year

From reading through this thread there’s massive moving of goal posts at times & any dissenting voices or quickly shot down by a vocal few and allows little chance of debate and nuance in this thread compared to other forums discussing other topics. there is a fair amount of contradiction at times also. Those talking about the efestivals site needing business without negativity would in my opinion be wary of driving people off just because they don’t agree with you also. It’s not just dissenting voices that will drive people away it’s shooting down and not debating like you should on a forum. anyway back to topic In my opinion the criteria for headliners should be as follows: Star Power (is they mainstream known) back catalogue-(do they have the hits to maintain a crowd for up to 2 hours) can they perform- credibility wise can they still go As glastonbury has moved away from being band orientated and more commercial I see the reason for Madonna she has the star power and having one of the biggest stars in the world is a massive get for the festival has the hits the negatives are if true is that she doesn’t actually sing which does take a bit of credibility away from her. But the show overall could still work now let’s say Madonna definitely fills 2 of the categories and could possibly get away with the 3rd due to the overall show. I get the booking if it’s true what annoys me is when posters are all for the likes of Madonna as they’d like it to happen but if someone was to say the Spice Girls/take or even further a Britney Spears Christina aguilera that who cover the same criteria are instantly shot down in disgust. But I would argue whilst they don’t have the longevity of Madonna they meet similar criteria listed above I’d go as far as saying Christina has more credibility because she can actually sing. I’ll go further when a pop punk say greenday band is suggested we can it’s not really glastonbury whilst it might not be to those posters tastes they still meet the criteria above. madonna is a legend and she should be booked in my opinion as it fits the biggest acts and that’s what Emily will want broadcasting around the world a massive singalong like with Elton. but I totally understand the dissenting voices she’s not really my thing but I get it.

Lads will be lads it’s hardly the end of the world if some lads might say she’s got a good set of tits etc. especially as she’s used her appearance to her benefit on many occasions i’m all for toning things down in this day and age but reading but I find weird that people than criticise lads for commenting on her looks.
