    • Broken Social Scene - Shoreline 7/4

    • Delphic - Doubt

    • Jamie T - Sticks And Stones

    • Delays - May 45

    • Plan B - Stay to Long

    • Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed (Russ Chimes Remix)

    • Vamprie Weekend - Giving Up The Gun

    • Empire Of The Sun - Walking on the Sun

    • Two Door Cinema Club - I Can Talk

    • Stevie Wonder - Superstition

Well I know 2 of those bands are not at Glastonbury but they are both top tunes for this summer :)

    Thoughts? and your CDs?

    Cheers

  2. OK... we're nearly there.

I'm usually one of the first down on the wednesday and get a good spot either at Pennards or Big Ground (overlooking pyramid). To be honest i don't mind where i camp but the misses and her heavily pregnant friend want to go near the Pyramid at Big Ground so if it all gets too much the preggers lady can just wobble down and flop by the Pyramid.

But... i'm worried. Usually at 10.30 am there's plenty of space on Wednesday am. But this time with car parks opening tonight etc... i'm not so sure.

Anyone reckon it'll be rammed around 10.30am? I know i'll have to wait n see... just opinions would be cool.

  3. At Reading 07 laying in my tent there was 2 guys having a debate about something or other that wasn't that important. a third guy they must have known butted in the debate with something to which one of the original 2 guys said "your opinion doesn't count, because you shit yourself"

  4. I actually found Pennards really dull. People telling others to 'be quiet'. But it WAS quiet in 2008. I thought it was the place to be. BUt i'm heading back over to Big Ground by the Pyramid for a bit of atmos. It's actually fairly quiet at night as everyone heads away to the late night bits.

  5. At first I was really miffed that Mumford and Sons clashed with Florence and Vampire Weekend. Then i just resigned myself to the fact i've seen both Florence and Vampire so i'll go see Mumfords.

    But...

That John Peel stage is gonna be rammed. Their popularity has suddenly soared. I'm gutted they are not playing the Pyramid. They'd be lower on the bill but... imagine a sunny afternoon at the Pyramid dancing away to Mumfords. The perfect band as people chilled... but then got into it.

Little Lion Man on the Pyramid... ahhhh (daydreams)

    Ahhh well.

Anyone think they'll pop up anywhere else?

  6. i love the early rolling stones stuff... but wouldn't wanna see em personally. the stones can't play anymore. they sound like the worst rolling stones cover band ever.

    shame... but true. imho.

  7. I'm on the look out for a good site got camping/festival kit at a decent price. Anyone know any good websites? Wanna avoid the Millets of this world.

I've been to festivals for years and have always had my own stuff. But last Glasto i shamefully left a lot there due to waking up and not feeling well. So i just hit the road and left lots.

I'm already stocked up with these though....

  8. I'm hoping those TBC's/special guests might be more reflective of 40 years too, a few aces up their sleaves.

Would be good to have someone with some history open things on the Pyramid on friday e.g. Plant (& friends?).

  9. I know what you mean, but that's part of the beauty of it isn't it? Stumbling over seeing something you never thought was going to happen.

I understand people will say "oh but it's so annoying when you find out afterwards", yeah, maybe, but then I've never been able to be annoyed about something that I didn't know was going to happen.

  10. Firstly i'd like to say i really don't care who plays Glastonbury. There's fun to be had at every second of everyday all over the site. I'd go if i didn't like a single band (which would be impossible).

But i would like to start a discussion regarding the promised "something extra special for the 40th anniversary". I mean to me at least it looks like a usual line up? Which, as i say, is fine.

But what happened to having a headliner from every year on the pyramid? So many bands wanting to play that big names would have to headline smaller stages?

Did this just all go out of the window?

Just putting in out there is all. Not whinging. (Maybe a tiny bit) :P

  11. should be ok if ya take a big bottle and try not to shake it about a lot. i just normally take 2litre bottle of soft drink and bottle of spirits (in plastic bottle) and mix it when i want it.

box of red wine is always a winner!

  12. Have to agree... I've been to nearly every festival since 1994 and the 'Pennards' feeling was gone many years ago for me. Camped there last in 2008 and it was just full of snobby, pretentious people who thought it was 'the' place to slum it near the park stage where they could claim they heard the new biggest thing first. I even heard one group say "'Pennards' and 'The Park' is like Shoreditch whereas The Pyramid and Jazz area is like yer townie, Leicester Square chav central... might as well stick a McDonalds over there".

I mean... this is Glasto... f**k right off with that attitude.

Hardly anyone had a camp fire in Pennards... no life no revelry. Boring. I'm back over to Big Ground for a bit of atmos i'm sad to say.
