Having looked at their tour dates, it's made me think they are quite likely to be at Sziget!

so in the middle of nowhere in their calendar, just ONE date for sziget during their "resting period" lol ?

Blink-182 as a potential act maybe? They don't have anything scheduled for August, but they're going to be in Europe at the beginning of September.

look at their tour.. they might need some rest in August, don't you think..?

No way they're gonna be here.

Well, I think Chvrches and Idles are great, but the rest... is terrible to me.

Btw, you said this it's cheaper... i'm afraid they'll keep on going with that 😞  Bands with all their stuff cost more.

This is not  necessarily true. All depends of the artist. I cannot think Yung Lean, Slowthai, Caribou, Jon Hopkins, Bob Moses, Fontaines D.C or Woodkid as "cheap" artist. Is not only about how many people you have on stage, is more about how many people you have behind the stage to make your show possible, and , of course, your popularity.

Bands I mentioned all have their own guitars, battery, bass, sometimes piano, etc ... and they are at least 4 members on stage. Yes, they do cost more. And nowadays it is more difficult for them to travel than solo artists who dont need much to tour.

Slowthai, Yung Lean, Caribou, Beabadoobee, ... trust me, they ARE cheaper for a fest' to book.

The festival did certainly lean towards less guitar music in there this year.

it makes me think about their question "would you like more edm-techno music in he future 😄  ??" .... hey, we''re not stupid, we know what you are trying to do guys .... fuck u

Well, I think A38/Freedome had one of the best line-ups so far. I mean, Caribou, Woodkid, Jon Hopkins, Fontaines D.C, Tokimonsta, Bob Moses, Kid Francescoli, Badbadnotgood, Yung Lean (still crying due to his cancellation), Inhaler, Iceage, Tourist, Jungle, Slowthai, Beabadoobee...

This is the line to follow

it's a matter of taste. To me, it was very weak. Just compared to 2019 with Yungblud, Chvrches, Coheed & Cambria, Of Mice & Men , Kodaline, Razorlight, Idles, ... yep, 2022' A38 suck lol.

  6. Happy October everyone ! @Sziget2023_Leaks, any infos or clues you're free to share ??

So far we have this "see you soon!" image that could mean nothing, or maybe Coldplay.

We heard that Billie Eilish will headline Reading/Leeds festival, which takes place very close to Sziget. Same for GreenDay (I think their others headliners have no chance to headline Sziget : Sam Fender, Foals, KSI and Paramore).

And for the other news "non related" to Sziget :

P!nk will be at Werchter Boutique in June, so unlikely for Sziget ; Muse will headline Rock Werchter

Beyonce might have 2 dates in Italy end of June

  7. Just so everyone knows, it seems that Reading/Leeds festival (25-27 August) headliners are :

BILLIE EILISH, GREENDAY, SAM FENDER, PARAMORE, KSI, FOALS

Everyone on their forum seems to believe their leaker, so...

Billie Eilish would fit Sziget IMO, and I personnaly hope that Paramore can be there 😇

So, who would you all like to see headline next year. Not necessarily who you think will, just who you'd like. Top three.

    My eclectic mix:

    - The Killers - not the greatest band but have a great back catalogue of bangers.

    - Miley Cyrus - I'm not the right demographic to be a Miley fan, but love her voice and think she'd put on a great show

    - Eminem - probably the only act that would guarantee my attendance in 2023.

I would give a kind of "identity" to Sziget in their headliners choices, every year. And my 2023 babys would be :

    * Rock act 1 : My Chemical Romance or Panic! at the Disco

    * Classic / Legend act : R.E.M or No Doubt

    * Female act : Katy Perry or P!nk

    * EDM act : Armin Van Buuren or Martin Garrix

    * Pop act : Imagine Dragons or Coldplay

    * Rap / HipHop act : Eminem or Outkast

Katy Parry is going on world tour next year.

interesting, where did you see that ?

foo fighters are hardly metal or even hard rock.

agreed ; this is pure Rock. And it fits Sziget perfectly, a very nice souvenir from the 2019 edition 🙂

Iron Maiden in 2010. Korn (are they metal?) a couple of years later.

Nothing for a decade, basically. Not going to happen.

yep, sadly... 😕 In 2019 we had "Of Mice & Men" at the  A38, in 2022 "cleopatrick" at the Europe stage (not really metal, but it was good though ^^) .. I would love sziget to offer us at least 1 metal act per day, even on a small stage.. ! damn they have changed so much.. 😞

Are Paramore big enough to headline? I like them but have no idea of their popularity.

I'd rather spend the evening breaking my own fingers than have to endure the noise Muse makes.

No I don't think so. My Chemical Romance would headline before Paramore.

About Muse... since they became an electro-pop band, I agree with you : absolutely no interest of listenning to them anymore.

Great for you. If you ask people who were at Reading/Leeds, many of them will say that Alex Turner looks like he don’t wanna be on stage.

"if you ask people" lol , try to make your own opinion instead of trusting everything you read on social media 😉 Turner is no Dave Grohl, everyone knows that.

AM were terrible last time at Werchter. Their last album made the festival crowd snooze and leave early. If they headline with another set like that, they're going to go the way of Kings of Leon (i.e. no more major festival headliner).

Both Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys shows at Sziget (major festival FYI) this year were great. SORRY if they don't "play" with the crowd or talk for 20 minutes : they play music. And they have great musicians.

Seems so, at least for Wembley for the 30th anniversary of Parklife: https://www.radiox.co.uk/artists/blur/reports-reunite-wembley-parklife-30th-anniversary/

Next year it would also mark 10 years since Blur were at Sziget for the first time.

Between the two, I would definitely prefer Blur. Gorillaz already played in Budapest 3 times between 2017 and 2018 (T-Mobile Beats + Budapest Arena in 2017 and Sziget 2018).

I agree. I'm kinda sick of Gorillaz, come on, there's plenty of major acts possible as headliners.. A BIT OF ORIGINALITY PLEASE !

Does anyone have any ideas on who will be playing. I have looked at a few bands floating about at the time. He are my thoughts before I get shot down.

I see KOL, Killers,  Foo’s and Metallica are about. I am not sure about the last 2 but I can see there is a gap between the killers and KOL before they return to the US so I can see one off them. A Big name.DJ or rapper but I can't see who is about. George Ezra is a good shout he is playing a gig in the UK and always a shout for a festival. Possibly Lewis Capaldi or Gerry Cinnomam .  Looking at Mad Cool and a few other tours I would like to see Wolf Alice, Biffy, maybe Blossom, war on drugs, Royal Blood. editors and maybe a Gallagher again. I can see it being more pop acts but if I get a few off these I will be happy.

I can also see a big name female artist like Dua but they may go for a different name and try and get Billy again. Dua was decent a few years ago and I would rather have her.

    August 22,2022

That was my first prediction last year and here goes for next year. I had a few right and along the lines off a few others but that was about it.

lool man ! you named exactly 16 artists, and had 3 rights ! (KoL, Capaldi and Dua lipa, which were already announced for 2020 lol) Or you're being ironic, in which case welle done 😂

If something, Coldplay's announcement proves that they will NOT be at Sziget, sincer their tour leg ends in july. Shoe in for Werchter Boutique, but I doubt they will play festivals: they are just too big.

Foals is not headliner material for Sziget (especially after the last album not so well received): weren't in 2020's lineup, will not be in 2023. Jack White as a head is also a little too weak. I'd go with RHCP/Green Day/The Strokes tho (Muse would fit more a Arctic Monkeys magnitude).

Agree on Billie Eilish, or Taylor Swift, or Katy Perry. I will also add that they rocked everytime they picked a female headliner, post 2014, except for Ellie Goulding and Rihanna. Also, agree on Harry Styles: if he will tour, he will be in, period. Otherwise, I look towards Shawn Mendes again, was leaked for 2020.

DJ-wise, anybody is fine, they are all the same as long as they draw in the top 10 of DJ Mag

Rap act would be expectable: the two rock acts this year were the lowest selling (they will address it on the heads, but KoL day was Empty), and hip hop is an heavy tendency that Sziget does not seem to have picked up yet (Wiz, Malone and Kendrick and that's it). Eminem would be the table turner, but it has been so many years he has been hyped by people on forums that I would not believe in it. Kendrick/Travis or some trapper would make sense in my book.

I agree Coldplay seems too big for festivals. But after all, Justin Bieber is the second artists the most listenned on Spotify, so we could say the same about him.. That what make me think, Coldplay at Sziget 2023, not that impossible. (even if I'd rather prefer smaller acts, I hate when people are coming very very early at the mainStage and wait... You said the crowd for Kings of Leon was empty : a bit exagerated lol, but that was to me the perfect crowd, people were enjoying the show without having difficulties to "move their arms" in the pit)

But yeah... I understand Sziget has to sell out 1 or 2 days at least, so...

    Still nothing for Hungary, so...

I think RHCP and Florence will both be in with a shout. Still think Coldplay are just too big, but their 2023 tour dates do seem to finish just before festival season begins so you never know.

Hope the undercard manages to squeeze in some acts like Self Esteem, Sports Team, Confidence Man, Gang of Youths, Fever 333, Foals, Glass Animals etc etc.

also, about Florence : why again ? already here 2 editions ago. Many artists/band will be available for a headline spot.
