Don't know if this has been picked up already, but Leon Bridges has a big old Glastonbury shaped hole. Just announced a Brighton show on The 23rd, so that leaves him free for the Friday and Saturday.

  3. First went in 1997 and only saw 2 bands before leaving for hospital (friend broke their ankle climbing fence).  Back in 2000 properly (tickets bought)

Left Scotland in 2005 and after immigrating to Canada, never really thought about it.  Until I realised they have no real festivals in Canada comparable to anything in the UK.  Started watching the highlights on BBC and pining for a return.  Returned in 2017 with my wife and just loved every second of it.  Missed out on tickets for 2019, but got tix for the next three years 2020/21/22 🤣.

Also plan on trying for tickets every year now and if successful will just try to make it work (also hope to take the kids in 2023/2024)

    Dropped on Spotify;

I'm liking it a lot of first listen and can definitely see it growing on me more. Bloke on Radio 1 said new album out January.

Not a great departure, but a lovely tune!  Glad to have them back.

Howdy, so, the trials to evaluate mixing are ongoing. Early evidence from AZ first followed by Pfizer (or vice versa) suggests slightly more mild to moderate adverse effects, but nothing serious, however better immune response was observed. I haven’t seen anything on Pfizer/Moderna mixing, but since they are very similar, you wouldn’t expect major problems. Next year and the year after, we have enough Pfizer doses ordered to give them as a booster to everyone in the country and I expect they will use them irrespective of what vaccine you got originally (those that got AZ will definitely get a different one as we haven’t ordered any more). In theory, priming with one vaccine and boosting with another should give a better response, but I agree, it would be nice to see hard data on safety profiles. I expect it would be fine though.

    Thank you, much appreciated!

  6. Quick question for @toiletduck when you get a moment to answer. Firstly massive thanks for all the great info you post on here. Wanted to ask what your thoughts are on mixing of the two mrna vaccines. In canada they’ve changed the guidelines so that you can mix and match. They do seem to change the guidelines more on availability of vaccine than solid science. If you had pfizer as first dose they are now offering Moderna as second claiming it’s pretty much the same vaccine and people shouldn’t get hung up on the brand. I know WHO and CDC are against mixing except in exceptional circumstances. There doesn't seem to be a lot, if any, solid research on the mixing of mrna’s. Whats your thoughts on this? Do you think most countries will move to this  recommendation eventually?

    Cheers!

Do you know what the rough time scale is for people there over the age of 60 to be vaccinated? One of my friends is Canadian, so just wondering when their parents can expect to be vaccinated

It varies from Province to Province.  In Ontario (most populated province), they announced that over 60's should be done by end July, which is shockingly slow and I honestly think it will be done way before then.   The Federal Government (Justin Trudeau) has promised all people who want a vaccine will be done by September.  Whether that means fully inoculated or just one shot who knows.  Vaccine roll out over here has been shocking slow so far.

    Just bizarre.

I live in Toronto and although the vaccine committee does not recommend it in over 65's (contrary to Health Canada's advice), it's completely up to the individual provinces which age group they decide to give it to.

I'm bracing myself for the worst. The UK are rushing ahead with a vaccine which will probably be done with the most at-risk group before June. Meanwhile, Australia has confirmed that despite leading the world in pre-vaccine response, they won't be vaccinating anyone whatsoever until March 2021.

So by the time the vaccine here get to the moderately healthy, moderately young lowlife like me, it'll be too late to be recognised by airlines/immigration and Australia-based folk have to witness Glastonbury happening without any means of being there.

Honestly mate, it would really really surprise me if airlines brought in such measures within the next year. Until a vaccine is widely available and accessible, why would airlines only allow a small minority to fly? The airline industry has been devastated in the last 9 months, I dont feel they would make it even more difficult to fly than it is at present. I’m sure it’ll be a negative test to board until such a time when vaccines are widely available.

I think it might, but Canadas vaccination schedule is behind the UK's.... it's unlikely I'll be able to get one before the festival. I am nervous about where international travel will be at, at that point.

If it's a mandatory vaccine to travel I'm going to be out of luck.

I’m coming in from Canada too and tbh am not too concerned about airlines making vaccines mandatory to travel for the forseeable future. Until a vaccine is widely available to everyone, I’m not sure how they can justify it. The industry has been gutted for the last 9 months, why then limit yourself to the passengers you’ll accept when things are opening up again?

I think a negative test will be fine until a vaccine is widely available.
