I think the Thursday night on Truth around Skindred last year was definitely another example of crowd crust being particularly bad. Our group had been at Truth, about halfway down, just in from the left hand wall, from about half seven onwards, and whilst it definitely got noticeably busier by the time Skindred came on it was never that bad, and being that side meant even popping to the loos near the Rocket Lounge was very manageable. I think by the sounds of it the problems came along the path at the back, and especially over the right hand side, as people came across the railway line from the Common and just stopped in a bit of a mass.
(Not saying there weren't issues, just that, as so often at Glasto, even in "the same" crowd, some parts were way worse than others)

I doubt Billie was 2nd choice tbh. She was huge and first to be announced too I think.
Considering Macca and Kendrick both got rebooked from 2020 I'd be massively surprised if there hadn't been some level of reach out to Taylor as well prior to looking at other options

There was 7 festivals between artic monkey appearances and people still thought that was a boring booking.
Huge part of the difference being that, even speaking as firmly not a Coldplay fan, they can be relied upon to play a big, joyous, crowd pleaser of a show in a way that the Arctics can't

Kylie should have headlined 2019. They didn’t need the Killers & they could have easily put Janet Jackson in the ‘legends’ slot.
But The Killers smashed it out of the park, Janet Jackson very much didn't, and Kylie in the late afternoon/early evening sun was an all time party vibe, so it would have been a massive net downgrade
EDIT
@Gnomicide beat me to it

Based on?
Think it came from the same source who knew most of the BST lineup before it was announced

Heilung's crowd gonna go full Yellowjackets and be playing percussion with the bones of the Brothers Bar staff after 40 minutes of this madness.
Would absolutely love a late-night Truth set of this

Would be absolutely grand at 4am on the Hell Stage
1000% here for this being manifested into existence

My celeb spotting high point will likely forever be during Kanye, when absolutely gillespied, turning round to discover Matt Smith and Billie Piper stood behind me, both looking in a not too dissimilar state to the one I was in

My mate and I managed to head over as soon as Kano finished and catch both, hurrah for the early Park finish on Sunday!

Not sure Shaggy was the best decision though....
Sunday of 2017, the best decision was Justice

Not the same thing at all, given his habit of singing his songs to a random tune rather than the one people know
Didn't stop them booking the Arctic Monkeys

I passed him in the T&C Field playing to about 10 people. Wondering if any performer ever plays to literally no-one?
Whilst working on the bar in the Stonebridge in 2019 I saw Cold War Steve do an hour long DJ set to single digits people total, with the tent being literally empty (besides those of us working in there) for some pretty decent stretches of that

I followed it by throwing shapes with my kids, @squirrelarmy, Ed and various others in The Temple until it finally closed and we were all shooed out.
What a marvellous way to round off the festival that was!

That segment's in Treehouse V, IV has Ned as the Devil, Burns as Dracula and the gremlin on the side of the school bus

Possibly my favourite flag of last year - Big Titty Moth GF - made a return this year.
Was amused by whoever it was who took a Brent "You couldn't run a successful paper merchants" flag to Texas

Yeah Iicon having a massive field (compared to the rest of the SEC at any rate) and a giant, visually arresting, high-production stage, and then mostly having pretty experimental techno on there is an odd one

Went because f**k it, it was early and we thought it would be a laugh, ended up being a genuine highlight. As my mate put it "I never thought I'd watch Rick Astley and have Never Gonna Give You Up be about the 4th best thing in the set"
Also seems like a genuinely good bloke who was clearly loving it, thumbs up all round.

Didn't try this year, but the crew bar in the Unfairground has always been fine with EPOs in the past
