I'll be one of those punters & I'm particularly angry. Tried out VIP in 2013 & didn't think much of it. Went back to regular tickets. Didn't notice the VIP front pits till showing up super early for Radiohead in 2016. As I watched people casually stroll in & out of that VIP pit for ~4 hours that day, my feelings about it not being worth it changed.

Decided to buy VIP the moment Pavement was announced. And now, after holding out hope for the last week that it wasn't the case, the festival confirms they've done away with the front VIP pit. Meaning, in order for me to secure a spot close to the stage for Pavement, I'll have to camp out during one of the trendiest acts of the entire festival?! Or somehow maneuver myself to the front as a mass exodus is happening. Perrrrrfect.

Can't help but feel cursed. As if being short isn't a curse already.

Yeah.. my only hope now that people who watch Tame Impala will go to Fred Again or 100 gecs, so I’m able to get good viewing position when watching Pavement

Should really be called the FMH ticket instead - Fuck Me Harder.

The VIP pricing for the second weekend was extortionate, and the experience this year looks like it'll be worse than expected. There used to be a nice early bird discount to attract previous VIP holders to go VIP again, but if this is the direction Primavera is going, then that's the last.

Yup.. and unlike W1, I found that no Auditori stage at W2 is such a disappointment. I wonder why no people complaint about that.

At previous primaveras. They had a raised area at the side for VIP like a temporary stand , so that's just at the back now , had its own bar and toilets.

Yeah..the raised area in the past VIP only good for private toilets and rest area (with bar) while the sound and  view sucks big time. The main privilege is clearly the front pit. I can’t imagine the queue for the middle pit (only one) in the current VIP setting (pretty sure there’s a limitation of people to access it with the small size compare the one in the back). Thus, most VIP ticket holders have to accept to be located in the far back with disappointing sound and view.

The way PS organizer communicate this type of information after they sell the ticket and less than two weeks prior to the festival is outrageous for me.

Hopefully it is big enough to cater for the ones that have paid the extra money for the VIP ticket. I have had previous experiences with not being able to enter the VIP area in front of the scene because it was full... 😞

Yeah. While the middle area is appealing, the back area is sucks. Highly concern that there’s a limitation on number of people in the middle area. (Why the hell people want to choose in the back if they can have a good view position in the middle with bar and toilet)

The VIP thing is such a bummer considering how much more they were this year. Really hope it’s better than it looks. I asked them on Twitter about a pit and got no response, unsurprisingly.

Have not yet received the email on updated map, but yeah pretty disappointed with the VIP arrangement

I hate to pile in on a city I love, but they really haven't dealt with the pickpocket problem. If there's something you want to get rid of, stick in your back pocket and spend ten seconds on the Ramblas.

I don't think direct mugging is a big issue at all, but I had the same experience as JohnDenis. A stranger stepped out in front of me and started dancing, as a prelude to God knows what. I pushed him away instinctively, and saw that he had a couple of colleagues who weren't too happy. But it didn't go any further than that.

I haven't had any problems at the festival, but loose pockets would certainly be a bad idea.

From my experience as a tourist Raval, Gothic, and Poblesec are the areas with the high caution. Eixample, La Sagrada Familia mid caution. And Poblenou, Gracia and Sarria low caution to pretty safe. But I might be wrong.

And Rapsody but they put her on at the same time as Mavis Staples which is so stupid it actually makes me a little angry. It's not even my worst clash of the festival it's just objectively the stupidest one.

For me, the clash of Nick Cave B.S with Bauhaus is…lil bit odd.

And the bastards put Earl on during The Strokes and King Gizzard. Just terrible.

LoL.. I also will skip Tyler for Beach House. Hopefully they’ll still have the SEAT stage concept like in 2019 edition. Saw several good rap/urban/hip hop performer there (AJ Tracey, Little Simz). Eventho it’s highly doubtful to expect additional name at this point.

Core Festival suddenly added Denzel Curry as a replacement for Stormzy. It's the first European festival for Denzel in June. Since he is on a European tour until June 2 (Poland) and Barcelona is not on the list, can we hope to see him added to the Primavera lineup? Next show after Europe is The Gov Ball in NY on June 11.

Should be a good addition for the fest. W1 is lacking hip hop performer. Only Earl S and Tyler (if I’m not mistaken)

    Surprisingly Thurs w1 is my strongest. Les Savy Fav>Dinosaur Jr>SVE>The Armed>VTSS>100Gecs>Black Lips>Black Midi>DJ Shadow.

The Friday & Saturday clashes are brutal for me.

Yap W1 D2 is my strongest but full of clashes. W1 D1 free from clashes and I’m a happy festival goers that can walk around seamlessly and enjoy the full set from Kim Gordon — Les Savy Fav —- Dinosaur Jr —- Sharon V.E — Yo La Tengo — Pavement — Black Midi — close by DJ Shadow. Perfecto

I think we all crashed clashfinder.

on another note.. hope that VIP area is better than it looks.. price difference was crazy this year.. looking like it may have been a mistake

I know..the VIP area is such a downer in the new setting

    International: quite a lot

British: too much (sorry, couldn't resist)

Quite surprise knowing that many people from my country (Indonesia) are going to PS 2022 (p.s: we are very far far far away from Spain). Either it’s because the attraction of some of the artists (Dua Lipa, Lorde, Tame, Gorillaz, Tyler has a good number of Indonesian fan base) or for the very first time we have our own representatives  that will perform at the festival (Gaber Modus Operandi and Senyawa). This will be a good international festival event

Funny, Im in the opinion that W1 is literally the best lineup I've seen in my life while W2 is quite mediocre and I would've 100% skipped this year if this was the lineup. Different taste I guess

Had both of W1 & W2 ticket. Agree that W1 (in my opinion) has better lineup, but I think W2 is far from mediocre (different taste for sure). Really eager to see YYY, MIA, RTJ, JAMC, The Smile, Jessie Ware.. while the undercard filled with a lot of eclectic & interesting acts that I never heard and watch before such as The Weather Station, Oranssi Pazuzu, Remi Wolf

Worth remembering that some cancellations will be of bands you wanted to see but would have clashed with bands you wanted to see even more...

Pretty sure the clashes in W1 D2 (strongest lineup in my opinion) will break my heart.

This is my first time going to Primavera, we've got an apartment not far from Glories so looks like the T4 tram should do us fine there and back if its running. Is usually a big queue/wait for the tram? I had good experiences at Mad Cool with the Madrid public transport, hoping this is similar!

Nope. Tram queue is the best compare to Taxi, Bus and early morning train

    1. Sleep all morning 2. Have strategic nap in the auditori 3. Caffeinate

I might be wrong, but is there only one coffee booth at the festival? (At big food court area). Need more caffeine booth tbh especially near Mordor.

    Map tomorrow, set times Friday?

I need to stop obsessing over the set times...

What's everyone's top 5 unmissable acts of the weekend then?

SVE, Pavement (if somehow PS clashes SVE & Pavement , I’ll definitely go riot), Weyes Blood, Bikini Kill, Gorillaz……plus Magnetic Fields over weekdays at Ciutat
