I've been trying to rain-test a new Craghopper lightweight jacket all week in Co Antrim here - despite there being deluges all around Belfast and further north than where we live I haven't caught a rain shower yet. This jacket's rain-proofing is clearly on a different level in as much as it is clearing clouds above me so it's 100% coming to Somerset in the bag.

What!? It's been monsoon season here! Get the bbq out, that should guarantee a shower

    C'mon, @GWR!

Just think what an end to the festival that might be...!

    Ben

    It would be epic, yeah.

I would imagine I'll be in far too manic a state tho trying to squeeze as much of the 4 to the floor stuff in before retreating back to normality come Tuesday. If they could play the stone circle around 9am that'd probably suit me better ?

George Fitzgerald live on Glade on Thursday ticks your boxes, @dingbat2.

And if you’re a Sigur Ròs fan (I am) then check out Eyre Llew. They’re opening JPT on Sunday and closing Scum on Monday morning at 0400h. They’re soundscapey post-rock with more than a nod to SR and are terrific. Their album Atelo is a smashing thing.

I’ll have a look in my schedule for anything else that might fit your bill.

    Ben

Eyre llew! Never heard of them till this was posted.

Have brightened up a gloomy Saturday morning here, lovely stuff! I think there would be tears if I saw them at that closing set on Monday morning lol not sure I could cope.

Thread of the year (again). Loads on here I want to see some new ones I am now into.

Struggling to add much, i’m curious as to what friendly fires come back with. Oh and i’m Looking forward to some top notch synth-pop from Georgia (though early on the park seems a strange placing.

Saw friendly fires comeback gig in brixton academy last year. Been looking forward to seeing them on the farm though I'm disappointed they haven't brought an album out. They played a few new ones at that gig that haven't been released yet, one called Tijuana was great.

The sun is out now and it’s warm. Got a proper sweat on during my run. Not many puddles to dodge either. The tidal wave at the side of the house has now disappeared, as if it never existed.

    Bye bye Glastonbury dark sky
Deebeedoobees got a well stick and the well stick is dry
Big dogs paws and the RAMJAM don't lie,
They're saying Glastonbury is gonna be dry,
    Glastonbury is gonna be dry...

    I've finally lost it

It’s on my clashfinder but it’ll be absolutely rammed I reckon. We tried to see DJ EZ at a similar time post headliner the other year and it was like 10 deep out the tent by the time we got there.

Late Nite Tuff Guy and Joe Goddard as an alternative is what I’ll do if it’s packed.

Same here, think it was 2016 djez was in there on that slot? couldn't even get properly in the tent and even in the outskirts there were elbows flying. Not a nice vibe. There are a few people of like to hear in there this year so hoping its a bit different

    This'll be my Friday.

Saturday will be Chemical Brothers, then all over IICON for Kode9, Laurel Halo, Hessle Audio et al. Rounding off with some tribal beatdowns from Tony Humphries.

Sunday is Deptford Northern Soul Club in the Meat Rack – if I'm haven't caught them already multiple times by that point – then an Eris Drew / DJ Storm / Karenn death clash, which basically comes down to where the largest group of mates are at.

And this excludes all the usual meandering into the Beat Hotel over the weekend. Very excited.

Really really really would like to hear Tony humphries, just hoping I can get in to the downlow

    Four tet 11am stonebridge

    Eris drew in the temple

Palms trax in bh are the others in pretty much stuck on

Would love to get in the wormhole for one of those late night sessions too

I went with a few people that 2016 was their first ever Glastonbury experience. They hated it and will never be back. It's a shame. It was awful.

I also vowed I can't do this shit anymore.... But here I am! And I can't wait!

2015 was my first, it was glorious. 2016 was so grueling, it was OK at the time, but I was physically exhausted for weeks after! Couldn't face 2017, but back this year and tho I'm glued to this thread I won't let the weather get to me as much!

    But please make it sunny

    Fort Romeau? He's good!

Been wanting to catch them both for quite a while so to have that plus added palms trax after I was well pleased! Just hoping the beat hotel isn't too much of a melt at that time.

Exactly what I was thinking. She said she’ll reveal the slot this week, although I’m hoping it’s not the crane!

I haven’t seen anyone mention Eclair Fifi yet. Her sets are so much fun, seen her twice and she smashed it out the park! Bit gutted she’s doing b2b with ermmmm someone I can’t remember now, so I don’t expect it to be her disco heavy self. Kind of hope she’ll jump on with Haai somewhere, but I’ll most likely miss it.

Have her set down for the Friday, she's on with fort romeau just before palms trax in the beat Hotel, looking forward to that! Love her nts show, never heard her live. Hoping to get to the beat Hotel after Jon Hopkins OK to get in for it

Basically went back for The Streets. Got today off anyway so thought might as well. Zero chance I would ever pay to go there, would take a great headliner booking to make me consider even going again for free.

Bizarre, especially during Ben UFO and Call Super. Crowds really do make the dance. My mate from Ireland in fact most people I know from Ireland like giving it a yeeeeoooo but that just makes me laugh.

There will be much Yeeeeeeeeeeoow-ing done in a couple of weeks time!

    Am I right @rubick?

Have been wondering about my Sunday headliner plans, I'll be in jpt for friendly fires so maybe stay on for streets then

Apologies if this has been covered, but can anybody shed any light on the Faithless DJ set in The Glade Saturday evening.

Who is it likely to be?

    Sister bliss just

    Absolute pleasure.

I'm really hoping (probably pointlessly) that the George Fitzgerald live set on Glade on the Thursday is not too horrendously busy, as I think it has the potential to be amazing. The sound system on Glade is probably the best on site.

    Ben

    Fingers xd for this too!

This has probably been covered but - I have never been in the Beat Hotel. What is "Room service"? I am planning on being at the Pyramid early on Friday and Saturday. Will there be a DJ on for Room service or is it something else?

AFAIK rooms service is just the beat Hotel resident djs spinning tunes

  15. This is a complete head melt. A good one tho. Everytime I think I have it sussed I get a "but what about xxx who's on then too" from across the dinner table as we try and plan our must sees.

And that's just with the djs, not sure how I'm going to fit in any bands.
