I always wonder why people post this kind of question in a place like this and not directly into google...
Think it was more to get people thinking and talking than purely wanting to know

Surely got to have an announcement next week? It’s March ffs, it’s gonna sell awfully if they hold off any longer
You’d think so, but I would also have expected a lot more social media activity in the lead up to it

Anyone heard anything else at all about Community festival as it's quite late to relate the lineup now
Nothing yet, I emailed them with my fingers crossed that they’d give me a date but I’ve had no reply

The likes of Kooks, Wombats and Bombay Bicycle Club were all names I thought might turn up at this before all got snapped up by days at All Points East.
Not sure who that leaves. I'd still love a Biffy+Royal Blood double, but I think that's unlikely to be in budget.
If Community can deliver Biffy and Royal Blood I will personally pay for the acts myself

Jesus christ, how are people still complaining that the acts are shit? Sure, there’s nobody particularly inspiring, but there are loads of huge names which very much deserve to be up there. If you want a rock festival then go somewhere else. If you want a mainstream festival with a larger focus on rock and indie than some other mainstream festivals, come to Reading. And ‘reading never sells out’, where’s this idea come from? haha

Reading was full of major rock acts when rock was bigger. Rock is far less mainstream now, so it’s no wonder they aren’t given as prominent slots

Even V had the occasional token rock act - Muse, Prodigy, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers...
I wouldn’t say so much for the festival’s last couple of years

I think it’s a great move to add Capaldi to that day, should sell plenty of day tickets to those who are more focused on the charts, while still being a good act for most of the weekend tickets. I think we need to get away from the idea that RandL is purely a rock festival, they’ll book whoever can make them money, on top of the multitude of rock and indie acts already announced.

I’d love to see Biffy return off the back of the upcoming album, even if it would be considered a boring booking

I do agree that their status has dropped slightly, although most of this due to what has largely been a period of inactivity.
I guess the only way to truly tell is to see the performance of their new album when that drops.
I hope they come back to headline RandL off the back of it. As much as it would be seen as a boring booking, it would be great for me
